Whenever someone is coming into town, there are several places that I recommend they check out. However, there are three dinner spots that always make it on my list. What are your thoughts? First and foremost, @wolfinthewoodsmissionhills has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. It’s tucked into Mission Hills and is cozy, intimate, has unreal food and it’s pretty affordable given the quality. I also am a big fan of tapas style restaurants as I love to get a bunch of dishes to share. You can’t beat it! Secondly, if whoever is visiting is a fan of Italian food, I always recommend @piaceremioristorante . We have never ordered a bad dish here. It’s casual, it’s family-friendly, the food is so fresh and delicious, we always have a wonderful time! Last but not least, if you’re coming to San Diego you need some fresh seafood, and @fishshopsd is my go-to. Looking for some of the best brunch experiences in San Diego? We’re constantly researching the best spots and let me tell ya, It’s time to add ARLO to your list. 🍋🥞 Tucked away in Mission Valley, this hidden gem has just launched a new DJ brunch that everyone can enjoy on Saturday’s & Sunday’s and let me tell you....it was phenomenal (the DJ is there from 10 am - 1 pm, btw). The atmosphere here is trendy, inviting, and SO fun. The DJ was fantastic and it really added to the experience, but let’s talk food. 😋 First of all, they have bottomless mimosas. Do with that information what you will 👀. They also have some really lovely craft cocktails, as well as mocktails if you’re not a big drinker like myself. What you REALLY need to order are the ARLO’s Souffle Pancakes. I don’t see many souffle pancakes on menus, and I bet it’s because they’re hard to nail, but boy did they nail it! It comes stuffed with a creamy lemon curd and is finished off with freshly whipped cream and some of the ripest, tastiest berries I’ve had. Overall, 10/10. Everything else we tried was also delicious, from the biscuits and gravy to the ARLO benedict, it was genuinely a great brunch that I’m still daydreaming about. Definitely check it out on the weekends - you won’t be disappointed! Especially when we’re having nice weather. It felt SO good to sit outside! . ALSO, it is located inside the @towncountrysd resort in Mission Valley, but don’t let that deter you - I know some resort restaurants can be a hit or miss, but this one is a HIT and they will validate your parking which is rare! :). Is this hyped up coffee spot worth a 45 minute wait? If you’ve been to @crownpointcoffee you know there is almost always a long line of customers waiting for their coffee, smoothies, acai bowls and breakfast sandwiches (especially on the weekend). This spot is really popular, but is it worth a long wait? The owner actually DM’d me after I posted this to say this was a day where they were short staffed so it was extra long, but they’re definitely one of the most popular spots in CP so let’s dive in🥓 . Me and my girl Chelsea went on over on a Sunday around 11 am. The menu is expansive and has something for everyone, whether you’re eating super clean or you’re down for something indulgent. The line to order went by super quickly, and the staff was really kind. My Funky Monkey smoothie actually came out pretty fast, within 10 minutes, but both of our sandwiches took over 45 minutes to come out. To note, there are only a few people back in that kitchen, so it totally makes sense, however I personally wouldn’t wait that long again as I usually want to be in and out. Both my bacon egg and cheese bagel and Chelsea’s ‘The Amazing Breakfast Sandwich’ were really tasty (hers looked extra good) BUT I wouldn’t wait 45 minutes for them again - so next time I’ll aim for a weekday so it’s less busy. . Learn from our mistakes and go EARLY on a weekend, or skip the weekend and try it out on a weekday if you want a quick meal. Overall, tasty spot, but not so tasty I’d wait forever! This cute cafe in downtown San Diego is the best hidden gem we’ve stumbled upon this year! 🥗☕️ This is @copa_vida and I believe this location on 101 West Broadway is newer so it makes sense why we didn’t notice it before. They are serving up delicious bites for both breakfast and lunch, as well as artisan coffee. When we arrived we noticed they have a TON of indoor and outdoor seating, so whether you’re trying to crank out your work day or you prefer to take your goodies to-go, they’ve got you covered. We ordered a variety of food and drinks so we could gather a full review, and honestly everything was so good. I’m kind of sad I didn’t know this spot existed earlier! They also validate parking inside the parking garage that’s nearby which is unheard of for downtown San Diego so it was a big plus for us! Not sure what to get for dinner tonight? I gotchu. One word: @miguelscocina 🌮 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Miguel’s Cocina fulfills all of my Taco Tuesday needs and more. They also have a fantastic happy hour on Monday’s from 3 until close and Tuesday-Friday & Sunday from 3-6pm. We usually go to their OG location on Coronado Island, but they have multiple other locations such as Point Loma, Old Town, Carlsbad and more (and they’re all consistently delicious, believe me, I’ve been to them all LOL). While they have a ton of options for everyone to choose from, our favorites have always been the below. Looking for the best coffee spots in San Diego? Be sure to add Seven Seas Roasting to your list. ☕️ . Have you ever been to @7seasroasting ? We frequently head over to their South Park location I figured it was time to share our go-to orders with you all. They have two other locations (Solana Beach & Aliso Viejo) but you might have also seen their coffee truck at our local farmers markets (it’s the one in Little Italy & Hillcrest - Jonathan loves to grab their Peanut Butter Cold Brew that comes in a beer-like bottle lol). Transparently, this is not another trendy, cute-sy coffee spot. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but they are VERY serious about their coffee here, which makes sense since they’re primarily a coffee roaster, but you can truly taste the difference! They use freshly roasted specialty grade USDA organic espresso that is imported from all over the world and have wonderful relationships with their farmers so they can ensure they’re sourcing the best coffee possible (and as fairly as possible!). They also have seasonal menus all the time which is so fun for us ✨. For spring they have a Blackberry Mint Lemonade which is SO good, and a great menu of delicious bites that were actually designed by Marco Maestoso, a Michelin chef from Italy. They focus on a ton of philanthropic ventures such as their Spikes Roast, which donates the profits to Spike’s k9 fund, and donations for Ukraine. Can you see why we love them? 🤍 .
