What started as a book blog in 2019 has now morphed into an Instagram community built around those small, simple moments in life. My work is meant to capture the details of life and travel, like a half-drank cup of coffee at a cafe, a flock of birds at the beach, or reading the last few pages of a good book at sunset.

Whether I'm telling this story through photography, video, or Patreon write-ups, I focus on the truth and authenticity of my experiences at home and on the go.

Bookish Take: Pretty End Pages > Sprayed Edges I was not planning on buying The Familiar because I have both the ARC and the audiobook, but those pomegranate end pages absolutely got me. I love special editions as much as the rest of you, but sometimes all a book needs is just some pretty end papers–especially since those fancy sprayed edge editions drive prices up and are an overall headache for us booksellers. I still love them, but they’ve sent me into a bookstore-wide panic on release date multiple times.

Update on my current reads and happy pub day to The Familiar!!! The final copies are GORGEOUS!! I can’t wait to get my hands on one. 🔥🐉 The Night Ends With Fire: I was super intimidated to start this one, because I’m a little afraid of long books, but it’s turned out to be one of the most compulsively readable fantasy books I’ve encountered. I’ve been able to easily read 50-100 pages in every sitting, which is a lot for my chronically distracted brain. 🦂🍷 The Familiar: Dare I say this is the best Bardugo yet? So far, it absolutely is. I’m obsessed and I think everyone else will be as well. Run don’t walk to your nearest indie and get this one for yourself!!

My Daylist as recent reads ✨ Projections by S.E. Porter–Though there’s really nothing romantic about the screaming in this one 🙃 Revelator by Daryl Gregory–Eldritch terror in the Great Smoky Mountains that has to do a lot with pig farming The Dance Tree–A whole lot of love was lost in this book and I still haven’t recovered

When you match your favorite book of the spring 😊 A monstrous love story that's both wicked and wondrous. Someone You Can Build a Nest In is filled to the brim with guts, gore, and heart(s)–just like Shesheshen, herself. This one will quickly become a favorite of those of us in our villain era. How can something so grotesque be so dang cute.

As we look towards April, I wanted to highlight some of my most anticipated releases for April 2024! Some of these I’ve read already and loved, some of these I’m dying to get my hands on. What books are you looking forward to this month?

We made it to Friday friends ✨

Currently reading and just finished ✨ 🚂 The Cautious Traveller’s Guide: The Cautious Traveller's Guide to the Wastelands has captured my attention in a way no book has since The Night Circus. The Wastelands is both whimsical and sinister, and yet, so substantial that it feels like it's waiting just outside your window. This book will leave readers of all genres–historical, fantasy, even mystery-lovers–in complete awe. 🔍 Foul Days (50% through): So far, Foul Days is an absolute joy of a book. Full of character antics, thrilling escapades, and shadowy Slavic folklore, this one has read-in-one-sitting potential–I would have gotten through it yesterday if I hadn’t started reading so late!
