One of my favorite things in the world is a rainbow and that has given me appreciation for all colors. This reflects in my life as I eat in color, I live in color, and I try to show that in my food. Some dishes reflect all colors and others highlight a specific one. In all their form, colors are beneficial for mind, body, and soul. It is with this belief that I find it important to pass on my love for colors, especially in food to my girls. I enjoy developing dishes that are family friendly, easy to make, include a variety of rainbows, and are packed with flavor.

My girls love potatoes. Especially when I make sabzis, they always look for any type of Aloo (potato) Sabzi. My cousin gave me this amazing idea to make Aloo Shimla Mirch combining the girls two favorite veggies - bell peppers and potatoes. Though I promised myself to eat healthier in January, every weekend, I'm at a birthday party or game, or gathering of some sort and find myself eating like it's the holidays again. (4c Pizza sauce and pizza dough class Pizza Sauce Recipe: 2 Tbsp Olive Oil 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 can San Marzano tomatoes 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp ground black pepper 1/4 fresh basil, chopped Heat a medium sauce pan on medium heat. Add in olive oil. Add in garlic and cook for 30 seconds then add in the tomatoes, sugar, salt, black pepper, and basil. Mix well and let cook for 5-10 minutes. Mash down and cook for another 10-15 minutes. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Pizza Dough: 1.1 lbs flour (4 cups) 2.72 tsp yeast (13.72 gm) 1 Tbsp salt 2 Tbsp Olive Oil 9 oz warm tepid water 1/2 tsp sugar Combine the sugar and yeast together. Add in the warm water and let the yeast bloom for 15 minutes. Combine the salt with the flour. Drizzle in the oil and mix well. Add in the yeast water and mix with a fork until the dough is wet then knead by hand to form a soft dough. Divide into 5 portions, cover with linen towel or saran wrap and rest in a warm place for a few hours. One of my favorite things about going to the Farmer's Market are the seasonal fruits! Pears and Pomegranates are definitely in abundance right now and I love the fresh flavors of both. There are so many varieties of pears but I chose the D'Anjou for this salad. Crisp, red slices with a juicy interior that is just perfect for this salad combined with the pomegranate arils. Why do kids grow up so quickly? I remember 2 years ago, I created this LEMON BLUEBERRY MINI LOAVES recipe in honor of my nephew who was just born. And now I'm celebrating his second birthday!!!!!! It's a bittersweet moment for me as I'm so excited to see how he's reaching milestones before I can blink my eyes, and growing into a smart and handsome little boy. It's been a fun 3 day weekend but I want to keep my week on a healthy track so I'm going to start off my day in my favorite style. With chia pudding. I have an abundance of pomegranate arils lately so I'm going to combine sweet and salty with in some roasted salty pistachios on this PISTACHIO POMEGRANATE CHIA PUDDING.
