MAY BOOK CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT The #bookcasebeautybookclub is reading FUNNY STORY by Emily Henry in May! I started it this weekend and I never want it to end. She’s done it again. Kick off summer romance season with us! Let me know if you’d like the link to join us! Synopsis: Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story: Stranded in beautiful Waning Bay, Michigan, without friends or family but with a dream job as a children’s librarian (that barely pays the bills), and proposing to be roommates with the only person who could possibly understand her predicament: Petra’s ex, Miles Nowak. Scruffy and chaotic—with a penchant for taking solace in the sounds of heart break love ballads—Miles is exactly the opposite of practical, buttoned up Daphne, whose coworkers know so little about her they have a running bet that she’s either FBI or in witness protection. The roommates mainly avoid one another, until one day, while drowning their sorrows, they form a tenuous friendship and a plan. If said plan also involves posting deliberately misleading photos of their summer adventures together, well, who could blame them? But it’s all just for show, of course, because there’s no way Daphne would actually start her new chapter by falling in love with her ex-fiancé’s new fiancée’s ex…right? #emilyhenry #funnystory #bookclub #summerreading

Story time: I started a book club in 2022 from a desire to grow a deeper connection with a group of readers who were yearning for the same thing. We started on Instagram and quickly found it was too chaotic. After trying a couple of other platforms, I found @bookclubshq and knew I’d found the right home for my club! #bookclubspartner @bookclubshq allows my club to connect on a platform designed for us! We have access to tools like polls, messaging, video chat, calendar scheduling, and resources for our books like discussion questions! This platform takes online communication to a more personal level and helps you build deeper connection with your community no matter the distance! Whether you already have a book club and are looking to migrate or you’re finally ready to start one, @bookclubshq is the best platform for your club! Best news ever - they gave me a code to share with you! You can use the code ‘BOOKCASE15’ to save on your club’s subscription!! Personally, I have the Pro Plus account and love it. It includes video communication and is cheaper than the Zoom membership I’d been keeping! Comment “send” and I’ll send you the link to all of the club options! Let me know if you have any questions! Send me a message or leave a comment! #bookclub #bookstagram #bookish #bookreel #bookcasebeautybookclub

Four-Star Round-Up I’ve read a number of four-star reviews lately and have fallen behind in telling you about them! Thanks to the tagged publishers for the gifted copies! First let’s clarify: Whenever I share about four-star reviews, someone always asks, “Why four stars? Why not five?” Four-star books are strong books that I greatly enjoyed and recommend to you!! March came and went and tbh it’s wasn’t my favorite month. But, there were still many gems that I’m thankful I got to experience! I only read four books, but recommend all of them to you! The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center was my only five-star read! You will definitely hear me praising this book in the coming months! The other three were four-star reads! Liked them a lot and will share more on them in a round-up soon: The Sons of El Rey by Alex Espinosa The Fury by Alex Michaelides The Rule Book by Sarah Adams I found MY book in @barnesandnoble! It’s been available there since it released, but I didn’t look for it because I didn’t want to be disappointed if it wasn’t there. I love getting your messages and pictures when you see it in bookshops! Thank you for cheering me on! I attended the @oliveandjune x @colleenhoover launch event with @bookswithbresmith in Dallas and finally met @shelvedbyserena, @lorireadsastory, @ashlyne.reads, and @brooksreadsbooks_! I had the best time! I made sourdough pasta for the first time and it was pretty good! I’m still making sourdough loaves once every two weeks. Love having homemade bread available! I finished the Old Testament books! If you’ve been following along, you may know that I decided to read the Bible in four months at the beginning of the year. I’ll be finished in a couple of weeks and then will be working through some studies from @thedailygraceco. Follow @bookcasebible if you’d like to join me! I found my name in an ACTUAL BOOK by my ACTUAL FAVORITE author! Thank you for the joy you bring to so many @katherinecenter! I spent lots of time with Austin, my family, and friends. Thankful for them in the highs and the lows. What was your favorite book in March? #bookstagram #readstagram #bookcase #homelibrary #deardiary #homelibrary #bookcasebeautybookclub
