Life is nuts right now. In the past five weeks, we’ve been to Austin, Denver, San Diego, LA, San Francisco, Sacramento, BURNING MAN, Sacramento, Phoenix, Austin, Denver, and then Phoenix again. The film industry shut down, so I started designing Airbnbs for clients. I have projects in Arizona & Texas. I gotta tell ya, I love interior design. Good design turns me on, so I’m constantly in a state of “YES OH MY GOD YES” at work. 🪩🐆 In other news, I’m four months into my first real “grown up” relationship. We’re serious. It’s intense. It’s exciting. I’m learning a whole new level of the game! 🎮 Love & miss you beautiful souls 😘
WHAT. A. BURN. Cannibalism, Ebola, and Tycho — oh my! My first fake national disaster wasn’t half bad. I ate food prepared by a French chef, enjoyed steam showers, practiced magick, and my partner asked me to move in together. Yes, it was a sh*t show. Hundreds of amazing events were canceled. The portapotties were nasty. We weren’t able to bike or drive until the mud dried. But I wasn’t stuck. How can I be stuck somewhere if I don’t want to leave? It was insane reading all the horror headlines. Headlines will say anything for your clicks. Your clicks are your most valuable assets in this society. Click wisely my friends. I had my second abortion when I was 34. I had been living in my van for 2 months. I met a French cowboy on the border of Mexico and we spent a week together in the desert. I was tracking my cycle with an app and realized we had sex on a "red" day. Turns out the morning after pill isn’t sold in Terlingua, Texas so I said goodbye to my Frenchie and drove several hours to Alpine, where I was finally able to find Plan B the next day. I found out I was pregnant in a CVS parking lot in Joshua Tree on Mother's Day. Plan B is less effective the longer you wait to take it and it took too long to track down in these tiny Texas towns. I drove to a private clinic in LA and got the abortion pill, Mifepristone. I parked Freebird off Highway 101, took the pill, was sick for a few hours, and it was done. Having an abortion sucks. Having an abortion is normal. This is a targeted attack stripping away our freedom so we can more easily be controlled.
I had my first abortion when I was 23. It was my first year in law school at the University of Texas. My Irish boyfriend flew to the US to visit and the condom broke. We were just kids. Choosing to have an abortion was the hardest decision of my life. As fate would have it, my Constitutional Law class covered Roe v. Wade on the same day I found out I was pregnant. I was called on in class to talk about the case. I stood up in front of my class of 100 students and explained the facts of the famous abortion case, all while secretly pregnant. I went to Planned Parenthood and was prescribed the abortion pill Mifepristone. I went home, took the pill, felt sick for a few hours, and then it was over. My heart breaks for all Americans. This is a horrific attack on our human rights.
