a little ✨🦋story time🦋✨:  In my family it has always been said that if you meet another Dobslaw, (‘ash’ is an abbreviation of my middle name, ashley), we’re related somehow! In 2018, I got a DM from @ebonydobslaw who lives in Australia & heard the same from her grandfather. To make a long story short, we kept in touch and Ebony’s sister, @awmonica , ended up coming to visit NYC last fall. I took the train up to meet her & we spent the day together: comparing lives growing up in different countries & drinking designer coffee. That was almost a year ago & I still call her at 2am when I’m upset or just to catch up. Although she’s on the other side of the world, she’s always a FaceTime call away 💗 fun fact: Melbourne is 14 hours ahead of us so right now it's 11PM on Saturday here, but it’s Sunday at 1 in the afternoon over there! ALSO you get fined it you don’t vote there!! But anyway, as much as I often complain about the downsides of social media, without it I would’ve never known my cousins on the other side of the world & hopefully someday soon, get to visit them in AUS 🇦🇺

as much as I am in love with editorial style photos, and the idea of #butmakeitvogue there’s an element you lose in the posed, curated and nauseatingly ‘perfect’ posts I often strive for on ig. by the first pic, besides the mud on my face 👀, you’d never know that we got absolutely POURED ON in the middle of the sunflower field, but ultimately laughed about it, danced in the rain.. and as cliche as it sounds, it was the type of unexpected moment that brings you out of reality enough where you feel most alive. & it was refreshing.. in more ways than one 🌧 xo, lauren ash

It was the feeling of starting a new book.. peeling back the pages one by one. The kind that would keep you up all night because you were so intrigued & could never get enough. Before I had wasted so much time rereading the same stories, expecting a different ending, but this was something new and wildly adventurous. But the tragedy of it is that just as I was getting to the best part, it was ripped from my hands... and I think I’ll spend the rest of my life wondering how the story would’ve ended. And all of my friends keep telling me it’s just the curiosity of the unknown, but I had read enough to know that regardless, you’re still my favorite book.
