Did you know the WEST restaurant in Hotel Angeleno has a Skip the Tip program where they pay their staff a liveable wage so you don't have to? We still tipped especially because our server was super awesome but that's a super awesome program! #hotelangeleno #westrestaurant - Food: 1. Jumbo Scallops 2. Peruvian Ribeye 3. Creole Shrimp 4. Honey Lavender Lamb Riblets 5. Eldertini with a view πŸ˜‹ #FoodieWendy - Experienced @westrestaurantla at @hotelangeleno with @evolusencom . . . . . . . #westlosangeles #westla #evolusen #dinela #eaterla #yelpla #foodphotographer

#ad | Instagram (1st image) vs Reality (2nd image) moment! Some of you had asked me how I am able to maintain the type of lifestyle. Yes! On Instagram, I seem to be traveling or exploring all the time. And I definitely try to be! However, what you don't see me doing is being on my computer almost ALL the other times, typing away, building @evolusencom The business is growing steadily that I even got on a couple of business calls while Sen and I were exploring Seattle! Hard to imagine just a few months ago. - If you didn't know yet, I am a workaholic, I like to be busy, to be helpful. I think this has a lot to do with my hotel and hospitality background, or maybe that's why I loved it so much. Sen and I are professionals in the Tourism Industry, so our aim with Evolusen is so we are able to work anywhere. This means we can squeeze in a hike when we stared at the computer screen for too long. Away from the traditional corporate life, I know so well in my "previous" life, and we aim to create this for all the people we will employ as the company continues to grow. - What we CAN'T get away from are marketing materials like business cards, STICKERS! and thank you postcards. I shopped a few places before deciding on @vistaprint, they offer a WIDE range of marketing materials and paper selections (recycled paper!). The design and re-order process is also super user-friendly. #OWN2020 #vistaprint - Use coupon code VP30 to get 30% off flyers, sheet stickers and postcards with free shipping for orders over $50!

Chihuly Garden and Glass! I've seen this place a few times on Instagram and was really excited when I saw it was in @visitseattle's plans for Sen and I to visit. I love how most of the rooms in the museum are dark while the colorful glass art are illuminated. Like peace and beautiful chaos mixed together, feels super calm to me. #visitseattle - Swipe left ⬅️ to see all my favorite pieces! - Seattle Museum Month will last until the end of February! Check out @visitseattle's page or website for more details!

Sen and I stayed at @motifseattle during our trip. It's in the heart of downtown Seattle, cute boutique 4 Diamond hotel that offers beer 🍻 tasting in their lobby. #motifseattle #visitseattle - @frolikseattle just updated their menu, so we had to try out their Happy Hour 🍸πŸ₯ƒ. We especially loved the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Dip with the home made ranch chips πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ swipe ⬅️ to see what we had. #frolikseattle - Motif Seattle also has a Visiting Art Program where they select a local artist every two years to showcase through out the property, they even change up their logo design with this program! The current artist is Todd McKinney πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ¨, his art uses different materials in addition to paint and GRAVITY! 🀯 #seattlecapitolhill #downtownseattle #thatview

1️⃣,2️⃣,3️⃣ or 4️⃣? - I used to stick my phone to or out of the window to get the view shot with no reflection. Thinking it will look better that way. It has to be clean, just the view, no distractions. - I still thought that when we were at the @spaceneedle! I was super happy when I see their window has big gaps like most observation decks I've been to. YES! I stuck my phone out the Space Needle! #spaceneedle #visitseattle - The wind was so strong, I started taking a few shots in the window, then felt like the images turned out better with the reflections! The ones without now looks a little boring. - Isn't it just like life? We want the norm because it's cleaner and easier. But life is never that way, we got to embrace the distractions, the imperfections, they make life that much more interesting ☺️

#ad | @sendowling and I have been working on @evolusencom for almost a year now. Getting a company off the ground has been a journey. Every time we make progress, we’ll scream "things are happening!!" Ok, mostly me πŸ˜†πŸ˜† - I shopped a few business card sites when we first started before deciding on @vistaprint. I chose them because of the paper stock they have (recycled paper) and the ease of design. So you can bet that's who I'm going to when we need more marketing materials. I got their postcards to write messages on and stickers. Everyone loves stickers right? 😁 #OWN2020 #vistaprint - Use coupon code VP30 to get 30% off flyers, sheet stickers and postcards with free shipping for orders over $50!

My first dinner ever in Seattle was at the @adanaseattle by @chefshota and his team. They serve Japanese comfort food with a fine dining point of view and offer a 3 & 5 course menu with choices or 7 course Omakase. @sendowling and I of course opted for the Omakase, when in Seattle! #FoodieWendy #visitseattle - The biggest worry we had for the 7 course was the amount of food, but it hit just the right spot. The whole experience is about 2.5 hours, we got no plans after dinner so it was alright with us. - The food was great overall, especially the short rib in the first image, so tender! - Our server notices everytime we leave something on the plate (which is not very often) and takes our feedback on why. As a business owner myself, you have to love a place that seeks immediate feedback, because you know it's going to be better the next time you visit. . . . . . #adanaseattle #capitalhillseattle #seattlefoodie #eaterseattle #bestfoodseattle #yelpseattle

@sendowling and I had the pleasure of a sneak peek of the Seattle Asian Art Museum last week before it reopened to the public on Feb 8th thanks to @visitseattle. - The museum displays Asian Art from different time periods, and instead of having a single room dedicated to each country, they have one theme room displaying items from different places. It's very interesting to see how everything is similar yet very different. A great way to show the complexity and diversity of the Asian Culture. Swipe left to see some of the art in the museum ⬅️ - The day was a bit gloomy, which gives it an extra layer of feels 😌 #visitseattle

So...if you don't know yet... February is @visitseattle's Museum Month! - @sendowling and I were at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience to check out their exhibits and their 45 minutes guided Historic Hotel Tour. - We had no idea what to expect but was excited for the Historic Hotel Tour since we both work(ed) in hotels. - The front desk staff told us to check out their "Where Beauty Lies" exhibit while waiting for the tour. I was really touched by what was on display. Especially the "140 LBS: How Beauty Killed My Mother". - This museum is filled with stories, the ups and downs of the people who got here generations ago. It really set the tone for the rest of my experience there. - Here are some shots of the Historic Hotel Tour, you can check out my stories of what else I saw while we were there. BUT nothing I'm showing now can convey the feeling I felt during the visit. So if you are in Seattle, this is definitely a must stop! #visitseattle #winglukemuseum

Really liked this picture @sendowling took of me last month, didn't post because of the trash can in the background 😬 but you know what...here it is πŸ˜† - Super excited for my upcoming trip to Seattle with @visitseattle! There's lots planned and I can't wait! Will be MIA in-feed for a few days BUT make sure to follow along in my stories πŸ˜‰ - Have you been to Seattle? Any tips?

We are our own biggest critic in life, do you agree? We have to live with ourselves until the very end, so do you want to live the rest your life with someone so critical? - "The older you get, the more you understand how your conscience works. The biggest and only critic lives in your perception of people's perception of you rather than people's perception of you." - Criss Jami, - The Looking Glass Self Theory by Charles Cooley: How we are not really shaped by others perception of us, but our own believe about other's perception of ourselves through social interactions. - I aim to change other's perception me by changing my own perception of myself, and hope this post helps some of you do the same!

Went to the Millennium Biltmore today for their Year of the Rat lighting event (check out my stories). Of course I roamed around with my camera πŸ“Έ afterwards. LOVE these chandeliers in their Rendezvous Court! This hotel was completed in 1923, you might have seen it in many TV shows, movies and music videos. It was even the venue for the first ever Academy Awards back in 1929! #beenatthebiltmore

β€œIf somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn how to do it later!” - Richard Branson - Saw this quote a few years back and really took it to heart. It helped me say YES to so many opportunities that I had no idea if I should take on. - The biggest of them all is @evolusencom! @sendowling and I came up with the idea, he offered me the opportunity to work on it full time, I said yes, while was super excited and scared at the same time. Fast forward to today, I've learned so much, met so many awesome people I normally won't meet, grew as a company and person. I'm still saying yes to opportunities I'm not sure of, to see where it will all take me. - I wanted to share this quote with all of you today, so you can be as inspired as I am. - Sharing this one I took while roaming the grounds of @thegarland after brunch one day πŸ“Έ not something I normally share but really liked it 😁

Did you know yesterday was Chinese New Year 🧨🧧? 2020 is the year of the Rat 🐭 The date changes every year because it's based on the Chinese lunar calendar that could be traced back to the 14th century B.C.E. it's based on the exact astronomical observations of the longitude of the sun and the phases of the moon. - It also called the Spring Festival, although winter is not yet over, it symbolize that the coldest days are behind us. - Celebrated Chinese New Year with @sendowling and family, one of the only time of year to wear my QiPao (旗蒍). First image was taken by @sendowling and second by @chow_time ☺️ 1 or 2?

Here comes more food photos πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ - Went to @novakitchenbar a few weeks ago for a meeting and finally had the chance to sort out the photos and they are making me hungry πŸ˜† #FoodieWendy #novaoc #evolusen (Yes I take the camera out to whereever I can! 😁) - My favorite dish was the Chicken with chili oil and the sashimi plate (3rd and 4th image) 🀀 the restaurant was really big and had multiple rooms and even a speakeasy karaoke room 🀫 - When taking food photos, I always have to: - 1. Remind myself to do it before I start eating! πŸ˜† I still miss a lot of dishes in shot because of it. - 2. Not rush! Worse thing is when I come home and look at the images on my phone or a monitor and realized there's something in the image I don't want to use (dirty plates, napkins, etc), the image didn't focus on what should (sashimi plate image in this post) or I should have replated the dish a bit to make it more "camera ready". - Hope you are enjoying my food images so far because I plan on posting more πŸ˜†
