Based in New Orleans and Houston, babes xo is a place for modern babes seeking inspiration to enjoy life to the fullest.

What does being a babe mean? To us, it means getting the most out of life from eating and drinking to travel, relationships and fashion, all while hustling hard.

We believe that women of all ages can be babes! It’s simple, if you feel like a babe, you are one.

Formerly Babes & Beignets, babes xo, began in New Orleans, La. in 2014 when the paths of two babes crossed and the rest is history!

What we believe in:

– Embracing every babe’s unique self – Kindness, towards yourself and others – Not apologizing for having strong opinions – But, also not taking life too seriously – Self care above everything!

alessandra A dog-mom extraordinaire to three adopted furry friends, Alessandra resides in Houston where she works in digital marketing and spends her spare time discovering the hottest spots around HTX and beyond. Destination Wedding Planning Hacks

When hiring a wedding planner, I definitely recommend meeting them in person or having a lengthy conversation prior to hiring them in order to make sure your working styles align. I completely trust my wedding planner, and the way we work is that I send her money for the deposits, she gathers the receipts and sends them back to me, she also updates her budget tracker and sends me updated versions. Share travel information with your guests in advance Planning travel right now takes a bit more time and thought, especially if your guests have never been to the city you’re having your wedding in. Keep yourself motivated with a bridal subscription box Planning is stressful, and sometimes you will not want to deal with updating your budget tracker, or taking meetings with your planner/vendors, but I’ve found that my monthly bridal subscription boxes keep me motivated and excited!

A Q&A with Heather Emerson, Founder of Prep To Your Door

To be honest, I was very angry to learn how we’ve been taught to eat based on a food pyramid and calorie counting vs eating fresh, nutrient dense, pesticide-free ingredients. Aside from putting out fires and problem solving bigger issues in the business with my partner, I try to ask myself every day: On an average day, I meet with one to three other business owners in Texas to see how we can help each other in between meetings with my team. I don’t get a lot of time outside of Prep To Your Door, so I really enjoy it when I have the opportunity.

A Q&A with Artist, Marianne Angeli Rodriguez

Rodriguez then went on to study in New York where she obtained a B.A. in media studies & anthropology from the City University of New York at Hunter College, and a degree in fashion design from FIT. Marianne lives in the historic district of Covington, LA with her husband and five rescue pets, where she quietly opened the doors to her gallery during the pandemic. I grew up with a lot of folk art in my family home created by local artisans from the countries we migrated to and this is what ignited my love of art from the beginning. Four years later, he’s now my business partner and director of the gallery (and plays in a two-piece band whenever he has free time, ha).

How To Celebrate Galentine's Day This Year

Divide the shopping list amongst your small group of friends so no one is stuck with a huge grocery store bill (I highly recommend shopping for your picnic at Central Market – best grocery store EVER): If you’ll be drinking lots of wine, don’t forget to Uber there and back 😉. Take a road trip with your best friend Whether it’s a day trip or a weekend-long trip, a road trip with your best friend + blasting Taylor Swift on the radio = the best time ever! Additions include Poor Man’s Plateau, consisting of marinated crab fingers, crab and shrimp campechana, smoked redfish dip, shrimp cocktail, dozen oysters, and Cajun caviar ($79.95), Crawfish Ravioli ($19.95), Grilled Maine Lobster ($52), 8 oz prime filet ($49), and a S’more ($9). Mutiny Wine Room: Mutiny will offer a special three-course prix fixe wine pairing dinner that also includes a special wine flight for two in their Tasting Room (reservations required).
