After about a month in Massachusetts, I’m fully VAXED 💉 and heading back to Colombia 🇨🇴 on Monday! I’m excited to get back so we can find a new apartment and get settled, but super sad to leave my family and friends here in MA - it’s always so bittersweet! Ps. LANGUAGE LEARNING IS HARD!!!! 🗣 A lot of people think I speak Spanish fluently because I live in Colombia...but I’m actually only at an A2 level!!! How much more understanding and compassion would there be in the world if children were taught from an early age to embrace diversity - that people with different cultures, languages and customs, different to their own, were beautiful and interesting and worthy of the same respect and love? I’m not sure if that’s enough, but I do think it’s a start. I am by no means claiming I have the answers or that I know everything - I am learning daily, but if even one child learns from @wallywanderingwallaby to lead with an open heart and mind and to have a compassionate curiosity to learn about cultures different to their own, then maybe, just maybe, there will be more love and less hate in this world. 📖Ending words in Wally The Wandering Wallaby’s Around The World Adventure: “Just know that the journey never truly ends, When you open your heart and mind to new friends.” © 🦘❤️ 📍Pictured here, posing for a photo with some fellow travelers in Kyoto, Japan 🇯🇵

I. MISS. WANDERING. ✈️ Part of me thinks I created @wallywanderingwallaby out of the need to keep my wandering spirit alive during a time when wandering wasn’t possible. 🦘🌍✈️ Truthfully, part of me LOVED the stillness that was forced upon me this past year, but the larger part of me has yearned for adventure, human connection, and to feed my curiosity of other places and cultures.
