TIME FOR TEA ☕️⁣ ⁣⁣ AD (Gifted) | I hope you enjoyed the long weekend! What did you get up to? I spent most of it pottering around my garden, pulling weeds and planting seeds. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I was also very lucky to receive a traditional Welsh afternoon tea gift set from @daffodilfoods. Based on the south-facing coastline of the Llŷn Peninsula in Pwllheli, small Welsh food manufacturer, @daffodilfoods lost almost half of their business when COVID-19 struck, forcing pubs and restaurants to close. At the time, they’d just launched their own-brand Welsh Clotted Cream, so when the lockdown began, they decided to launch a Welsh afternoon tea gift box. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ To accompany their clotted cream, @daffodilfoods contacted other local food businesses to source more wonderful Welsh goodies. The gift boxes are packed with everything you need to enjoy a traditional Welsh afternoon tea while staying safe at home, including @poptybakeryltd bara brith (500g) and six Welsh cakes, 4 x 40g Daffodil Foods Welsh Clotted Cream, 2 x 40g Daffodil Foods raspberry compote, four sultana-studded Village Bakery fruit scones, 200g Collier’s Cheddar cheese and 250g salted Welsh butter, four @welshbrewtea bags and a hand-written bespoke daffodil watercolour greetings card for the recipient. Just add milk, sugar and hot water and you’ll be good to go! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The Welsh afternoon tea gift boxes are available for UK-wide delivery at a cost of £25 each. Please visit to place your order.⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #AfternoonTea #welshfood #britishfood #timefortea #afternoonteatime #afternoontealiving #AfternoonTeaUK #afternoonteaathome #creamtea #hightea #highteaparty #highteatime #teatime #teaparty #teaandcake #tealovers #teaaddict #teatotal #cuppa #stayhome #supportlocal #nostalgicfood #passonsomepositive #cdfblogs #GREATBritishFood #foodgawker #ukfood #quarantinecuisine #welshbloggers #teahour

TONKOTSU RAMEN 🍜 ⁣ I’ve been feeling a little bit down lately (for obvious reasons!) so when my friend @mysticlilith asked if I wanted to pop around and collect some of the tonkotsu ramen she made under the tutelage of @matsudairamen (with distancing), it really made my day! ⁣ ⁣ After building my ramen, I was faced with the impossible task of capturing the perfect shot before sampling a single morsel - a challenge that never seems to get any easier no matter how many times I do it! A creamy pool of umami-laden pork bone broth engulfed a mound of homemade ramen noodles, topped with salty-sweet chashu (braised pork), soy-marinated soft-boiled egg, sesame seeds and spring onions. Drool!⁣ ⁣ After running a series of sell-out local pop ups, self-confessed ramen geek, James Chant of @matsudairamen confirmed a seven-week residency at Cardiff’s @bluehoney.local, just before COVID-19 struck and he was forced to shut shop. ⁣ ⁣ Now, he’s planning on delivering his highly acclaimed ramen in the form of frozen meal kits containing everything you need to make your very own ramen from the comfort of your own kitchen including broth, tare, oil (combined) and noodles, with toppings like soy-marinated egg and chashu pork available at an additional cost. The kits will be available on a trial run from around 8th June. They are currently priced at £7.50 and you can opt to include a soy-marinated egg for £1 and/or chashu pork for £1.50. They will be available both for collection and for delivery within the Cardiff area at a cost of £3. ⁣ ⁣ Find out more at @matsudairamen but be warned, you’ll have to act fast if you want to get your hands on one of these ramen kits - I have a feeling they’ll be like gold dust! Sign-up to the mailing list to be kept in the know: I’ve just put my name down and can’t wait to get my hands on another kit! Thank you @mysticlilith - I shall be returning the favour very soon!⁣

Bottomless Brunch in Cardiff: 7 Top Spots

celebrating a special occasion like a birthday, looking for the perfect spot to guzzle Prosecco and eat brunch on a Cardiff hen weekend or stag weekend, or simply fancy a catch-up with friends over a glass of bubbly, here are some of my favourite options for bottomless brunch in Cardiff. Where to find the best bottomless brunch in Cardiff R. P. Culley & Co at The Exchange Hotel With a starter, a main and free-flowing Prosecco for up to 90 minutes for £30 (£20 without Prosecco), R. P. Culley and Co. at The Exchange Hotel doesn’t offer the cheapest bottomless brunch in Cardiff, but if you’re looking for a touch of class, you can’t go wrong here. The first ever establishment to introduce bottomless brunch to Cardiff back in 2016, the Hilton Hotel’s in-house restaurant, Grey (also open to guests) offers one of the most highly-rated bottomless brunches in Cardiff. Bottomless brunch at Grey is served from 11am until 5pm from Sunday to Friday at a cost of £28.50 p. p. and from 11am until 4pm on Saturdays at a cost of £30.50 p.p.

AD | After a relatively quiet few weeks on the work front, I’m excited to be working on another recipe for the fabulous Conwy-based butcher and wholesaler, @edwardsofconwy! We worked together on several recipes last year and so it was lovely to hear they wanted to work with me yet again this year! 🥰⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’ve been asked to keep the details of this next recipe under wraps until early June, so I’m going to leave you in suspense until then!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In the meantime, I’ve been looking back on the recipes I created for @edwardsofconwy last year. This colourful Greek Spetzofai was one my favourites. Packed with juicy bell peppers, tomatoes and @edwardsofconwy Cumberland Pork Sausages, this is best served with crumbly feta, fresh olives and hunks of crusty bread to soak up the rich juices. Find the recipe - and all the other recipes I’ve created for Edwards of Conwy - over on the blog and on the Edwards of Conwy website, ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #EdwardsOfConwy #AlwaysEdwards #WeAreEdwards #spetzofai #spetsofai #greekfood #greekrecipes #eatgreek #greekeats #greekcuisine #greecestagram #greek_islands #greecelovers #greekfoodporn #mediterraneanfood #sausages #PassThePork #porkrecipes #tryporc #easymeals #familymeals #f52grams #thefeedfeed #cdfblogs #kitchentravels #quarantinecuisine #lockdownfood #culinarytravel #cookblogshare #fbc2020

The Best Restaurant Cities in the US

With this in mind, which US cities should we add to our 2019/20 travel agenda if we really want to get our teeth into the best US cuisine and experience the very best of America’s restaurant cities? The largest city in New York, New York City is the epicentre of typical American fast food and one of the country’s most well-known restaurant cities. According to a recent article published in The Guardian, six of the world’s top cities for vegan food can be found in the United States. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a meal to remember, however, you’ll find a spattering of prestigious fine dining restaurants including ramen bar, Domu, Chatham’s Place, Michelin-starred Kadence and Norman’s.

CHIPOTLE CHILLI CON CARNE⁣ with all the trimmings 🌶⁣ ⁣ Smoky, spicy and SO satisfying. I really went all out on cooking for me, myself and I last night 😂 I didn’t quite manage to eat all of this myself of course, but I’m devouring the leftovers for lunch today, freezing a portion and offering the rest to my next door neighbour. ⁣ ⁣ We only started chatting over the garden wall recently. It turns out he broke his back not so long ago and is really struggling to get around at the moment. I gave him some of the corned beef pie I made the other day and he told me I bake a good pie. Let’s hope he likes spicy food ‘cos this chilli is a scorcher! ⁣ ⁣ Do you speak to your neighbours?⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #chilliconcarne #beefchilli #beefy #mexicanfoodporn #mexicanfood #mexicanfoodlover #tasteofmexico #quarantinefood #quarantinecuisine #familymeals #easymeals #beefrecipes #gotbeef #easymealsforbusypeople #foodgawker #cookblogshare #cameraeatsfirst #thefeedfeed #lovethefeedsyoufollow #cdfblogs #cardiffbloggers #foodbloggeruk #foodieflatlays #britainsbesthomecooks_ #fbc20uk #comfortfood #comfortfoodeats #foodprnshare #flatlaylove #flatlayfood

Quick & Easy Greek Spetzofai Recipe

In this blog post, I’ll share an insight into the background and history of authentic Greek spetzofai, before going on to share my personal recipe for this classic Mediterranean dish, using Edwards of Conwy Cumberland Sausages. Edwards of Conwy Cumberland Sausages How to store and cook Packed with fresh, seasonal bell peppers, juicy tomatoes and meaty sausages, authentic Greek spetzofai (or spetsofai) is impossible to resist. Edwards of Conwy also sent me some Pork and Leek Sausages to experiment with and I used these to make a pork and fennel risotto, sausage patties and sausage rolls. To read more about these brands, check out my initial blog post, featuring my Bacon and Asparagus Tart recipe, made using Edwards of Conwy dry cured smoked bacon and fresh purple sprouting broccoli, asparagus and spring onion.

Keeping it simple again today with a slice (or slab, should I say!😂) of @princes corned beef and potato pie with @heinz_uk baked beans. I made this a few days ago and warmed up the leftovers for lunch today. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This is a classic British pie and it’s so easy to make (although I’ll admit I used @jus_rol ready-rolled pastry!) I followed @lavenderandlovage’s recipe and it was absolutely perfect, even if my pastry skills still have some way to go! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ What’s your favourite pie filling?⁣ Check out my Recipes highlight to see the pie prior to cutting and find out how I chose to decorate it! ⭐️⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #pie #cornedbeefpie #cornedbeef #pieporn #GREATBritishFood #britishfood #ukfood #englishfood #bakedbeans #simplesuppers #easymeals #easymealsforbusypeople #nostalgicfood #comfortfoodeats #foodgawker #cookblogshare #f52grams #thefeedfeed #thefeedfeedbaking #passonsomepositive #bloggingtogetheruk #cdfblogs #quarantinecooking #lockdownfood #onmyplate #fbc20uk #foodprnshare #eatfamous #britainsbesthomecooks_ #traditionalfood

THE SIMPLE THINGS ❤️⁣ ⁣ Hearty beef stew made with meat leftover from the beef rendang I made the other week, slow-cooked for eight hours with whatever veg I could find in my fridge/freezer - in this case potatoes, carrots, onions, peas and garlic - served with buttered sourdough. Sometimes it’s the simple things, right? ❤️⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #beefstew #stew #stewedbeef #gotbeef #beefy #beefrecipes #beefporn #beeflover #slowcooking #slowcooker #crockpot #crockpotmeals #cookblogshare #foodgawker #foodprnshare #f52grams #eatfamous #buzzfeedtasty #GREATBritishFood #britishfood #foodbloggersuk #ukfood #quarantinecuisine #comfortfood #fbc20uk #britainsbesthomecooks #bloggingtogetheruk #passonsomepositive #cdfblogs #nostalgicfood
