SAVE THESE TIPS FOR TRAVELING AFFORDABLY 📌⬇️ 1) avoid super popular destinations during the busiest months — travel during the shoulder seasons 2) when looking for lodging, rather than looking right in the center look for options that are within a 20-30 min walk for more affordable (and usually better) options 3) visit countries where the dollar goes further — Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Albania, Georgia 4) stay in Airbnbs with at-home hosts (cheaper and a great way to meet locals) 5) volunteer through @workawayinfo or @wwoof 6) buy local produce, meats and cheeses and cook some of your meals 7) book your flights using a VPN (I use @nordvpn) and always use incognito mode 8) consider long layovers — some destinations like Turkey will even pay for your hotel 9) avoid super touristy restaurants and opt for eating local instead 10) try to travel with carry-on only to avoid checked bag fees 11) don’t be afraid to stay in hostels or local guest houses 12) use a travel credit card for all spending and open cards with high bonuses and travel perks like TSA pre check and @prioritypass access 13) use public transportation > taking taxis and private cars 14) look for free things to do in a city like visiting parks, free exhibits, picnics and wine with a view, free museums 15) buses tend to be the cheapest option to get between cities (and countries) in Europe and Asia 16) travel sloooower - moving around costs time and money [travel tips | travel budget | travel for cheap | how to travel on a budget | travel advice]

If you want to see the world without breaking the bank… my account is for you. Lately I’ve struggled to define my niche because one day I’ll be eating a 5-course meal with natural wine and the next day I’m taking an overnight bus to save $20. I try to avoid tourist traps at all costs, but I’m still a tourist looking for the best, prettiest spots. Now that I’m in my 30s I’ve retired from the 12-bed dorm life, but I have no problem sleeping in a tent or a basic homestay. I prefer a cute Airbnb over a chain hotel any day. Don’t get me wrong no matter what your travel style, I’m going to have tips for you!! But if my style of travel sounds like your style of travel.. say hi in the comments below! ⬇️ [travel | travel tips | travel lifestyle | bucket list travel]

Visiting Italy ? Add a night at Rifugio Fratelli Longo to your itinerary! 📌⬇️🥾 If you’re planning a trip to Italy and flying through Milan, then I highly recommend spending some time in the Orobie Alps, just north of Bergamo. We visited in late august and had the trails practically to ourselves!!! Here is what you need to know to spend a night in the mountains: 📍 Rifugio Fratelli Longo 🤑 53 euros per person for room, dinner and breakfast 🥾⬆️Carona > Rifugio Longo 3 hours 🥾⬇️Rifugio Longo > Carona 1.5 hours 🚗 there is also an option to drive to the Rifugio, although I personally recommend the hike The trail from Carona to Rifugio Longo is a magical one with incredible Mountain View’s throughout. Although steep, this is a relatively short overnight hike for anyone visiting northern Italy. Although close by to the Dolomites, it is much less busy and less expensive. If you’re planning to stay overnight, you’ll be in a shared dorm room. Make sure to pack your own sleeping bag or sleeping bag liner, pillow case, towel The food at Rifugio Longo is AMAZING. For dinner we were served a charcuterie board to start. For our first plate we had a rosemary risotto, served with decorative edible flowers. For our second plate we were served grilled meat with polenta. And finally, for dessert there was ice cream with warm berries. All of this is included in the nightly rate of 53 euros.

If you’re visiting Italy then you need to visit… LAKE ISEO 💦🇮🇹⬇️ ⭐️ 1 hour from Milan by car, 1.5 hour by train ⭐️ Close to beautiful areas like Bergamo, Brescia, and Verano ⭐️ WAY less crowded than nearby famous lakes like Lake Como and Lake Garda ⭐️ Beautiful lake, tons of tiny villages, incredible hikes in the surrounding mountains [milan day trip | Venice day trip | things to do in Italy | northern Italy | Italy travel | lake iseo | Brescia | Italy vacation]

This is your reminder to bring your reusable water bottle to Italy 🇮🇹 💦 I never travel without my water bottle (specifically my @vapur foldable water bottle that I’ve been using the past 8(!!) years! If you’re traveling to Italy you’ll find cold, drinkable water throughout many of the cities! This is a perfect way to stay hydrated in the summer heat, without buying tons of single-use plastic. 📍fountains in video are in Brescia and Lake Iseo 👗: wearing my traveler dress from @abercrombie — this is one of my absolute favorite travel outfits because the material is super breathable and there are built-in shorts [italy travel | tips for Italy | Italy travel tips | Brescia | Bergamo | lake iseo | visit Italy | summer in Europe | Europe summer travel | travel tips]
