I help travelers based in the southeast USA to prioritize travel in their life and make the most of their time off. I plan jam-packed itineraries full of fun things to do and the best places to eat & drink and love a good nature escape. By day I work as an electrical engineer and at night I run my blog and help my husband with our mini-farm. We travel as much as we can and I travel with all types of groups from couples to friends to family. I'm always up for an adventure and can pack my bags in 30 minutes or less and am ready to hit the road. I am looking to collaborate with other bloggers, exchange guest posts, and partner with brands.

Highlights

I just got back from a weekend in Southern Pines where I got to explore Pinehurst and other small towns in Moore County. It’s long been known as a golfing destination but here’s what to do if you aren’t a golfer [sponsored]: 🥾 Hike at Weymouth Woods or take a walk in the Village Arboretum or Sandhills Horticulture Garden. (It’s the Year of the Trail in NC!) 🍺 Visit the breweries with their Pour Tour Passport 🐄 Tour a local farm - I got to check out @mistymorningranchnc which is an ostrich farm and it was a highlight of the trip! ☕️ Grab a cup of coffee and walk the Village of Pinehurst or downtown Southern Pines. Lots of locally owned shops that I stopped in for @simplyncgoods! 🥘 There are some amazing restaurants here so if you’re looking for a foodie destination it’s perfect. 🏺On the border of Moore County and Randolph County is @seagrovepotters which has the largest concentration of working potters in the US. We stopped in quickly at @benowenpottery and were lucky enough to see him in action in his workshop! Have you heard of Southern Pines or Pinehurst? @homeofamericangolf #weekendgetaways #southernpinesnc #southernpines #pinehurst #pinehurstnc #visitnc #ncweekend #pourtour #sandhillsnc

What are your best tips for traveling with a dog? I’ll be honest, I’ve struggled traveling with Barley - especially solo - because she is so high strung and it makes it tough to work/get content while I’m on the road. This weekend Tyler came with me to Beaufort though so we took Barley along with us. Here are a few helpful tips from my own research and things that helped this weekend: 1. Tired pups travel best - This is number one because it made the biggest difference. On the way down, she was constantly whining but on the way back she was so tired that she slept almost the whole way. 2. Treats - Barley is super food motivated so having treats at a restaurant or brewery is a game changer. You can also use their dog food to hand feed them meals using it as a reward instead of feeding it all at one time. 3. Lots of bathroom and water breaks 4. Airbnbs for high strung dogs - Barley does best when we rent an entire house instead of trying to do a hotel. We also want to take her on more camping trips. 5. Use Bring Fido - I used this app a ton this weekend. 6. Get a collapsible crate - These are so convenient, lightweight, and Barley loves hers. 7. Respect leash laws - Leash laws are there for a reason. 8. PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG - self explanatory 9. Bring old towels - I use these to clean Barley off after a hike and I lay them over the seat that I don’t have a cover for. 10. Bring slip on shoes and lounge pants - If you aren’t used to having to walk your dog around the block on a leash in the mornings or evenings then this may not be top of mind when you’re packing. Bring clothes that you can easily slip on to take your dog out right after you get up or right before you go to bed. On a side note - Beaufort, NC was very dog friendly and many of the restaurants we visited accommodated serving us outside even though it was so cold. #travelingwithdogs #dogtravel #travelingdog #travelwithdogs #roadtripwithdogs #dogroadtrip #travelnc #dogfriendlytravel

Our weekend in Beaufort was full of beautiful views, amazing food, and good drinks. We stayed at an Airbnb within walking distance of Front Street and it was super convenient. We only left to make a trip out to Fort Macon State Park. I also spent an afternoon checking out the local shops for @simplyncgoods! We absolutely love the Yadkin Winter Wine & Beer Passport! I’ve purchased one every year since I turned 21 and it’s one of the cheapest ways to visit multiple wineries in the area. Here are the ones included this year. 👇🏻 @adagiovineyards @angrytrollbrewing @carolinaheritagevineyards @elkincreekvineyard @goldenroadvineyards @grassycreekwinery @hazegrayvineyards @mayberryspirits @pmvwines @roaringrivervineyard @roundpeakvineyards @serrevineyards @shelton_vineyards @skullcampbrewing @slightlyaskewwines @stonyknollvineyards @thirstysoulsbrewing @whiteelephantbeer Have you been to any of these? #ncwine #winedestinations #winetravel #visitnc #yadkinvalley #ncliving #northcarolina #surrycounty

Had to share my twist on this trend. 😂 I try to stay upbeat and continually encourage you to follow your dreams - whether that be to start your own business, work remotely, or advance in your career. But I also don’t want to downplay that sometimes pursuing your dreams is difficult. 😬 It’s been a rough past few months for me business-wise to be honest. BUT I’m gonna acknowledge it, regroup, and come back with a better plan. So if you feel like you’re struggling right now to keep up with everything on your plate just know that you are not alone. The Best Places to Camp on the East Coast

Enjoy the outdoors by camping at Watkins Glen State Park Six Nation Campground, one of the most famous State Parks to visit in New York, located in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region. While there is no swimming available at Four Mile Creek State Park, beach swimming is available nearby at Wilson Tuscarora State Park and pool swimming at Fort Niagara State Park. First Landing State Park is actually Virginia’s most visited state park and it is one of the most historical places in Virginia (and the United States) as it is where the first colonists arrived on new land. One of only two beachfront South Carolina state parks, Edisto Beach State Park features a beachfront campground and is only an hour away from Charleston!

How to Take a Winter Camping Trip

And because winter camping is so much less common, you get a little more space to breathe and be yourself, without worrying about sharing a campsite or a trail with too many other people. Still, camping in winter does require a little bit of planning, and sometimes a little bit of gear. At the same time, if you’re going to go out in the cold, it’s important to know that your gear will keep you warm. Not only do they make your sleeping situation a little more comfortable than sleeping on the hard ground, but when it’s cold, they provide an extra layer of insulation for you.

The Best Wineries in North Carolina by Region

I am lucky enough to live in the Yadkin Valley AVA and wine tasting is absolutely one of my favorite things to do on the weekends that I’m home. After your tasting, walk through the Wine Shop to find your favorite bottle to bring home with you, or visit the Wine Bar, where you can purchase a glass (or bottle!) A few of my favorites are Carolina Heritage Vineyard & Winery, Elkin Creek Vineyard, and Grassy Creek Vineyard & Winery. I recommend doing the deluxe tasting which includes a tasting, gourmet cheese dip, homemade crackers, and a glass of your favorite wine after the tasting.

Is Snowboarding Hard? 10 Questions Answered for Your First Time Snowboarding

Some people are just naturals, and it will take them less time to learn how to snowboard. While this is the most challenging and most time-consuming thing to accomplish, once it’s learned, you can quickly advance to blue runs and even black diamonds. However, the difference between skiing and snowboarding is that once you learn how to snowboard, it can be a lot easier to reach an advanced level. Snowboard boots are a lot more comfortable to walk around the slopes in versus ski boots which can be painful and are hard to walk in.
