I help travelers based in the southeast USA to prioritize travel in their life and make the most of their time off. I plan jam-packed itineraries full of fun things to do and the best places to eat & drink and love a good nature escape. By day I work as an electrical engineer and at night I run my blog and help my husband with our mini-farm. We travel as much as we can and I travel with all types of groups from couples to friends to family. I'm always up for an adventure and can pack my bags in 30 minutes or less and am ready to hit the road. I am looking to collaborate with other bloggers, exchange guest posts, and partner with brands.

Want to know one of the most underrated vacation destinations on the East Coast? ✨ Central Pennsylvania ✨ I’ve been three times since 2022 and am crossing my fingers I can make it back again this year. Here are some of my favorite things to do: 🥾 Hike one of the MANY trails - Mount Nittany, the Mid State Trail in Rothrock State Forest, and the Thousand Steps Trail have been some of my favorites 🚲 Visit Raystown Lake - The beach here is nice but mountain bikers come from all over to ride the Allegrippis Trails here at Raystown. I’m not a mountain biker but I did enjoy riding around the skills park. If you just want a nice view, Hawn’s Overlook is the place to go. 🍺 Make a stop on the Central PA Tasting Trail. Wineries, cideries, breweries, and distilleries are all included on this trail! I’ve been to many of them and you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. 🛶 Take a boat ride through a cave at @pennscave or take a walking tour of Lincoln Caverns - both unique and beautiful! 🚂 Experience a piece of history and take a ride on the @east_broad_top. 🌽 See how the Amish live in Big Valley. 🐮 Agriculture is a huge part of central Pennsylvania, so visit a local farm while you’re here! One of my favorites has been Lovetwo Eat in East Waterford. 🏡 Stay: I’ve stayed at @bellefontebnb, @innatsolvang, and @airydaleretreat and trust me, you will be over the moon happy with any of these choices. Have I convinced you to visit this area yet? I didn’t even mention all the state parks here! #centralpa #visitpa #pennsylvania

It’s getting warmer here in the southeast (ignore the cold snap right now 😅) which means I’ll be getting out on the water soon! If you need some ideas for places to go whitewater rafting here are a few rivers that I’ve done and loved: 📍New River Gorge Class III - IV depending on section Upper New is easiest - the views are gorgeous on this river plus it’s located in a National Park. Very close to the cute town of @visitfayettevillewv. 📍Nolichucky River Class III - IV Super fun river close to @visitjohnsoncitytn. I’ve gone with @usaraft and loved it. 📍Nantahala River Class III (option to skip last rapid which is the only Class III you’ll run) One of the most popular whitewater rivers in NC and great for beginners. Plus the @nantahalaoutdoorcenter is awesome and there’s lots to explore in @brysoncity. The Tuckasegee is also great for beginners. 📍Chattooga River Class III - V Section 3 is easiest and fun. Section 4 is for the adrenaline junkie with multiple Class V rapids in a row. I’ve gone with @wildwaterltd twice and had a great experience both times. Stay in @visitoconeesc when you come. 📍Pigeon River Class III - IV Pretty popular since it’s close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Lower Section is the easiest but Upper Section is a ton of fun. We used @smokymountainoutdoors. #whitewaterrafting #southeast #whitewater

What do you love about being in nature? For me, this is where I feel closest to God. I am constantly in awe of his beautiful creation. Another thing I love is that no matter what is going on in my life, hiking to a beautiful view can typically put my mind and heart at peace. At least for a little while. It's been a tough couple of weeks and I haven't gotten outside nearly enough. I would love to hear how it helps you. 1 Chronicles 16:34: "Give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." #californiaredwoods #peaceinnature #natureviews

I live in the triad where you’ll find the closest mountains to Raleigh (or anywhere in eastern NC really). Here are my favorite spots and favorite hikes in each: 📍Pilot Mountain State Park Pilot Knob Trail (previously Jomeokee Trail) - 0.8 miles Ledge Spring & Grindstone Loop - around 2 miles Pilot Creek Trail - 3.3 miles 📍Hanging Rock State Park Hanging Rock Trail - 2.6 miles Moore’s Wall Loop - 4.7 miles Indian Creek Trail to Hidden Falls & Window Falls - 1.2 miles 📍Stone Mountain State Park Stone Mountain Loop - 4.5 miles Wolf Rock Trail - 1.5 miles Black Jack Ridge Trail - 1.5 miles Note - many of these are rated strenuous! If you want an easy hike or even an overlook you can drive to then you’ll want to visit Pilot Mountain. Are you hiking anywhere this weekend? #nchiking #ncoutdoors #stateparks

Please tell me you’ve seen the SNL skit? 🤣 While I don’t have a van *yet* I want to try it out so badly. Are you interested in trying van life? #travelfun #vanlifedreams #travelhumor

Looking for places to kayak in North Carolina this spring or summer? Here are a few ideas: 💦 Tuckasegee River 📍 Dillsboro/Sylva @discoverjacksonnc 👉🏻 Class I and II whitewater so it’s SUPER fun and beginner friendly. Rent a ducky (inflatable kayak) from Tuckasegee Outfitters. 💦 New River 📍 @visitwestjefferson 👉🏻 Easy flat water river, super clear, and great for fishing. We always rent from New River Outfitters if we don’t bring our own. Water can get shallow and watch out for rocks. 💦 Merchants Millpond 📍 Gatesville address but not a lot nearby. 40 minutes from Elizabeth City. @visitecity 👉🏻 Gorgeous swamp with old-growth cypress trees and Spanish moss. We camped at the paddle-in campsites and it was pretty neat. 💦 Lake James 📍 Between Marion and Morganton @blueridgetraveler / @discoverburkecounty 👉🏻 Beautiful lake to paddle on, but stick to the coves as there is boat traffic. 💦 Yadkin River 📍 @exploreelkin 👉🏻 Wide and easy float with (typically) few obstacles to avoid. Check out Hometown River Company for rentals and shuttle. Have you gone kayaking in North Carolina? Would love to hear recommendations especially for the coast! #kayakingfun #ncoutdoors #northcarolinaliving North Carolina kayaking, things to do in NC, NC rivers

Anyone else have a husband with long legs and you can never keep up? 😅 #hikingfun #hikingcouple #nchiking

Add this beautiful trail to your list for a sunrise or sunset hike near Asheville: ⛰️ Lookout Mountain 🥾 1.4 miles (though AllTrails lists it as 1.0 mile) 💪🏻 Moderate 🐶 Pet-friendly While it's labeled moderate, I think this is a pretty tough one. There is also a bit of a rock scramble at the end and it's a little difficult to navigate with a dog - especially mine since she pulls on the leash. Where is your favorite sunrise/sunset hike? #sunsethikes #nchikes #visitnc

Are you a sunrise or sunset person? I love either one and there’s not much better than sharing it with friends. Tag your travel buddy that would love to see this. #STEAlabamaBeaches #visitalbeaches #ALBeachBlogger #alabamatravel

The Best Places to Camp on the East Coast

Enjoy the outdoors by camping at Watkins Glen State Park Six Nation Campground, one of the most famous State Parks to visit in New York, located in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region. While there is no swimming available at Four Mile Creek State Park, beach swimming is available nearby at Wilson Tuscarora State Park and pool swimming at Fort Niagara State Park. First Landing State Park is actually Virginia’s most visited state park and it is one of the most historical places in Virginia (and the United States) as it is where the first colonists arrived on new land. One of only two beachfront South Carolina state parks, Edisto Beach State Park features a beachfront campground and is only an hour away from Charleston!

How to Take a Winter Camping Trip

Still, camping in winter does require a little bit of planning, and sometimes a little bit of gear. At the same time, if you’re going to go out in the cold, it’s important to know that your gear will keep you warm. Not only do they make your sleeping situation a little more comfortable than sleeping on the hard ground, but when it’s cold, they provide an extra layer of insulation for you. Freeze-dried ingredients like freeze-dried vegetables and meats, as well as partially-cooked foods like instant noodles and powdered ingredients (like powdered peanut butter, powdered milk, and grated parmesan) can help you put together meals that are flavorful and full of the calories you need to keep going.

The Best Wineries in North Carolina by Region

It’s hard to choose the best wineries in North Carolina so I’ve put together a list of many of my favorites as well as some from a few other travel bloggers. After your tasting, walk through the Wine Shop to find your favorite bottle to bring home with you, or visit the Wine Bar, where you can purchase a glass (or bottle!) of wine to enjoy. A few of my favorites are Carolina Heritage Vineyard & Winery, Elkin Creek Vineyard, and Grassy Creek Vineyard & Winery. I recommend doing the deluxe tasting which includes a tasting, gourmet cheese dip, homemade crackers, and a glass of your favorite wine after the tasting.
