Every time I fly from and into Vancouver I get amazed by the stunning views! I got to see some pretty epic sunsets from the sky where we can see the sea of mountains stretching all over to the north. It’s truly a privilege to live in a beautiful place like this. Last year I found this composition but was not very happy with the shot, so this year I tried to get a better one and I’m pretty happy with it! A super nice feature I love in the Sony A7CII is the subject detection system that can recognize humans, animals, birds, airplanes, cars, and insects. On the second shot, the camera was struggling to focus on the airplane, but as soon as subject detection was turned on and set to airplane, it focused right away. A trip that didn’t go as planed We planed two weeks vacation in the Rockies in the beginning of March to shoot some winter landscapes. Last time we went to the Rockies during winter was in 2020 and since then we were dreaming to go back! Well, life is always reminding us we are not in control. Three days after arriving in the Rockies, I started feeling ill, and testes positive for Covid 😭😭😭 After some days, when I was feeling better, we decided to go back home and cut our trip short. I had so many plans for this trip. I wanted to create so many night photos, it was full moon so it would have been perfect. About Women’s Day… When internet started growing I thought it would be a great thing. Everybody would have access to information and therefore we could progress. This was correct in certain areas, but in others I feel like Internet gave voice and amplified absurd lines of thought like the ones that want to control and put women back in places where we have fought so hard to get out. So that’s why I don’t really feel like spreading positive messages, because nobody is listening, everybody just wants to talk. My wish for this day, specially for men (and some women) is that you listen more, understand more, and be an ally of women’s causes. When you see someone being misogynistic call them out. Make a conscious effort to not repeat behaviors that harm women and their progress towards a more equal society. And yes, this also includes those innocent jokes and memes that in fact contributes to perpetuate misogyny. Also includes not feeling entitled to be rude just because it’s a woman, or to patronize and belittle us.
