Spring is here. And lucky for us, flowers didn’t get the coronavirus memo

Spring finally feels as though it’s ready to stick around (despite a few random snow and bitter cold days a week ago). And let’s be honest, the warm weather sure does make Staying Home a whole lot easier when you can expand the home quarters to your own backyard! The eruption of life we call spring is not just a natural phenomenon, but a call to people to leave their winter caves and come together to celebrate the floral renaissance. And though we have just been ordered back into our caves for (at least) another month, the days are lengthening and the air is warmer, Mother Nature doesn’t care about a pandemic… and thank goodness for that!

If this past year taught me anything, it's that the power of connection is invaluable! Teaching yoga during the global pandemic

2wks ago I taught my last (at least for now, while we all practice safe social distancing). The biggest thing I've learned from my decade of teaching yoga & one that also feels relevant to the world we now live in (amidst the novel coronavirus), is that change is constant AND necessary. ᴍᴀʏ ɪ/ʏᴏᴜ ʙᴇ ꜱᴀꜰᴇ ᴍᴀʏ ɪ/ʏᴏᴜ ʙᴇ ʜᴀᴘᴘʏ /ʏᴏᴜ ʙᴇ ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜʏ ᴍᴀʏ ɪ/ʏᴏᴜ ʙᴇ ᴀᴛ ᴘᴇᴀᴄᴇ.

Growth isn't linear and certainly learning anything new can be an intimidating process! 👏 Lil Kickers understands this long-term effort approach, which is why their soccer series spans across 12-wks. ⚽ For her, the longevity certainly helped establish more stability and routine - which has been so great at becoming accustomed to rules, which will later translate to the more team-oriented playing she'll move into as she gets older. 🥅 But like anything else, learning a sport comes in fits and bursts, there's loads of processing and internalizing new skills for little ones! This is where Lil Kickers really shines in my opinion... the coaches have all been so patient with all the kids - regardless of age and ability level! They are great at bringing the kids together during class and mindful of their attention spans, especially with other distractions (a shared field, a noisy environment, etc). 🤗 Today marks our final day for the Spring session, we are looking forward to a new challenge... Soccer outdoors with @lilkickers_lksoccer this Summer! Candy Cane Red & Green Pinwheel cookie recipe

Such a classic, but I decided to be a little extra (cause hey, if there ever were a time to be extra, that time is now… HoliDIY), adding a little spin (pun intended) to the pinwheels with a candy cane crust [sidenote: this also helps to hide the not-so round edges, should your pinwheels struggle to resemble a perfect circle – such as mine]! INGREDIENTS (shop for all the ingredients HERE) 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened 1 cup sugar 2 large eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon red gel food coloring 1/4 teaspoon green gel food coloring 1 cup powdered sugar 5 tsp water peppermint candy canes, crushed finely DIRECTIONS 1. Working with 1 disk of dough at a time, roll dough out between 2 sheets of parchment paper to 1/4-in.
