I don’t know how you can even begin to acknowledge, let alone celebrate, international women’s days without talking about these women. My grandpa owned his own business for most of his working life. He’d often go into the office on Saturdays when it was quiet and no one else was there, and I’d often ask to go with him. To help make copies or file papers, but mostly just to play on the office computer. If he was going in by himself, he’d stop at the deli for a buttered roll on the way. But if I was coming with, it meant stopping at the Hightstown diner for a proper breakfast. 2 eggs sunny side up with canadian bacon, home fries, and white toast for Poppy, and silver dollar pancakes for me. Just something I was reminiscing on in the car this morning. I’m so thankful to still have our Saturday morning breakfasts🤍
