A COZY WHISTLER GETAWAY 🏔️🌲 It’s no secret that Whistler is one of our favourite local getaways, so we had to sneak in one more visit before we leave BC for the next two months! We spent a very cozy few days at The Eden Whistler, a beautiful two bedroom rental in the heart of the upper village. Just steps from the Blackcomb Gondola, it’s in a great spot for exploring and is set up to be a super comfy home away from home. We loved getting up to the mountains so many times this winter, and this was the official end of ski season for us! A LITTLE DISNEY RECAP 🏰☀️💕 We had the best week running around Disney World for Steph’s birthday, even though we came home completely exhausted 😂 We walked on average 22km a day for 6 days, park-hopping around all 4 parks and packing in as much as we could. We managed to do absolutely everything including the new Tron Lightcycle ride + the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride several times (both are amazing!). We were also there during the Flower + Garden Festival at Epcot, and the food was amazing. We ate so well all week and were super impressed with all the plant-based options (Disney continues to get more and more vegan friendly) 🌱 Things we did to maximize our trip that were 100% worth it: Stayed on property at a Disney Deluxe resort which gave us early access to the parks each morning, extended evening hours at the parks, and the option to include a meal plan. We did a quick service dining plan for our stay which was a really great value, and the mobile ordering system is awesome for saving time if you don’t want to spend a lot of your day sitting for meals! We chose one day to add on Genie+ and maximized it as best we could to save time on lines. It helped us skip some really long queues but it definitely wasn’t necessary for each day, so we’re glad we only did it once. All in all, this was such a fun milestone trip for us with Steph’s parents. We got to recreate some special memories from Steph’s childhood, and create so many amazing new memories together. IT’S STEPH’S BIRTHDAY!!! 🎉💕🎂 I think this video sums her up perfectly, so if you don’t have the pleasure of knowing @stephburlton in real life, this is basically her in a nutshell 🥰 She is such a joy to be around and always full of energy. She’s a total goofball and can find the fun in any situation. Her seemingly endless energy and zest for life is contagious, and it’s truly such a gift to be around her. She is always up for anything, and no plan or idea is too wild or impossible. She is the most determined person I know, and when she sets her mind to something, she will always find a way to make it happen. She’s funny, brave, playful, kind, and loving, and I pinch myself every day that I get to spend my life with her because I truly don’t know how I got so lucky. OUR FIRST TIME IN STOCKHOLM 🇸🇪 We knew we had to include Stockholm, Sweden in our Scandinavian road-trip last year, and we’re so glad we did. It’s such a fun city and we only scratched the surface in our short visit! First impressions: Everything is on the water and the views are beautiful 💦 The Old Town (Gamla Stan) is very very magical ✨ The city has amazing architecture 🤩 It’s very dog-friendly + very queer-friendly! 🐶🌈 They have the coolest metro stations covered in art 😍 “Fika” (a coffee/treat break) is such a lovely part of the culture ☕️ The city is very easy to navigate and get around ✔️ We loved Stockholm and it’s 100% on our list to go back to one day! We’ve never spent this much time at home in the full ten years that we’ve been together! All this time in our condo means we have a lot more time to take care of ourselves, so we’ve been putting extra energy into our personal care routines, beauty routines, and haircare routines. She’s been growing out her length for the past couple years, so it’s especially important that she uses a gentle towel to dry her thick, straight hair on wash days. I will either scrunch my hair from soaking wet for 5-10 minutes with my towel and then leave it to air dry, or “plop” my waves in my hair towel for 10-20 minutes before taking it out and scrunching.
We love how inclusive Leah’s work is of the LGBTQ+ community, and how skilled she is at having stigma-free conversations around sexual health and wellness. She is currently a post-doctoral fellow in the University of Victoria’s Theatre Department and at the University of British Columbia’s Canadian Institute on Inclusion and Citizenship. C. and in many places around the world, researchers are realizing that when we don’t recognize LGBTQ+ folks in sex education, we are putting people at risk because they think this information isn’t for them.
We wanted to spend our anniversary somewhere that meant a lot to us, so we stayed a couple of nights at The Victorian Hotel in downtown Vancouver. It’s a very special place to us and it was the perfect spot to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. To celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, we planned a photoshoot with our incredible wedding photographer Sara Rogers Photography. We thought it would be really special to shoot in some of the same places we took our wedding pictures, and The Victorian Hotel was such a perfect spot for a photoshoot.
