LOUD📣 & PROUD🥰 Diversity brings flavor to any culture. Being hispanic from Puerto Rican decent is one of the best gifts God gave me. At some points in my life, it did not feel that way, and it made me feel marginated and different. But, what I have figured out growing up, is that embracing who you are and where you come from is what makes you special and unique. I LOVE🥰being Puerto Rican born in the US mainland and I am PROUD📣 of who I am and where my family comes from. -3rd Runner Up at Miss North Carolina Teen USA 👑 -2nd time competing in this system -1 thing I can say is if I could go back and repeat this entire weekend again, I would not change a single thing, at all. As I mentioned to the judges in my interview, the past 10 months as Miss Greenville Teen USA has been the testimony of my resilience and my determination to always give 110% to everything that I pursue. I know that I gave my entire heart and everything I had throughout this journey and especially this weekend, and for that, I am content. Meeting other girls from all across NC and SC was truly a blessing. I was honored to represent my hometown of Greenville, and be able to spread my mission of Girl Strong with the contestants, whether that was backstage affirmations, or even pre-show peptalks. Knowing that I left my impact on other girls and women as a mentor, reminds me that my Job has been fulfilled. Although the outcome was not as I hoped, I am trusting God’s bigger plan for me. I know that timing is everything and my time will come. Although I do not know when that time will be, I do know one thing; I do not need a crown or banner to continue my advocacy and love for mentoring young women through my initiative of Girl Strong. I’ll leave you with a quote from my favorite pump up song, Girl in the Mirror, by Sophia Grace: “Because every set back is just a set up for something just a little bit better” For now I am going to enjoy my summer at home, work, the beach, preparing for college, and traveling across the country for so many exciting adventures!
