I started my website to interview people in the food industry but as time went on more and more opportunities presented themselves. The site has grown and besides food, I now cover travel, technology and other lifestyle related topics.

Finally made it over to the Mississauga Asian Night Market in Square One last night. Lots of families out and about enjoying a beautiful summer night with some delicious Asian street food. Some of the highlights were the many skewers holding everything from grilled lamb to spiral potatoes to whole squid as well as tons of options for those with a sweet tooth. . . . . . @mississaugaasiannightmarket @shopsquareone @modernmississauga @tmacontario @saugaculture @insauga @visitmississauga #mississauga #nightmarket #asianstreetfood #mississaugaeats #sauga

The first thing I did when I heard that the 2024 @travelmediaca conference was being held in @destinationstjohns was look for places I had to eat at when I got there. Obviously @mallardcottagerestaurant was at the top of my list. @cheftoddperrin and his team had been putting out some amazing food since opening the restaurant in the small village of Quidi Vidi. Mallard Cottage Restaurant was often named as being one of the best restaurants in the country. It's housed in a building that was built sometime between 1820 and 1840 and is recognized as a National Historic Site of Canada by @parks.canada. Unfortunately Chef Perrin isn't with Mallard Cottage anymore but from what I've heard the focus on high quality Newfoundland ingredients and cuisine has remained the same. On the day I visited I tried calling to see if they accepted walk-ins but there was no answer so I decided to take a chance and walk 30 minutes from downtown St. John's to the restaurant. As luck would have it I was able to snag a seat right by a window for lunch. On the menu that day was a perfectly cooked piece of halibut on a parsnip puree in a delicious broth. On the side was some sauteed kale, I'm not the biggest fan of kale but I need to find out what they did to theirs because I really enjoyed it. The food scene in St. John's is a very vibrant one and I'm looking forward to exploring it some more one day soon. . . . . . #TMACNL30 #mallardcottage #quidividi #stjohnsnl #yyt #newfoundlandandlabrador #newfoundland

Some scenes from @destinationstjohns and the small fishing villages around the city. I'm slowly going through my photos and videos and reliving the memories. #stjohns #newfoundlandandlabrador #oceanviews #eastcoastcanada #fishingvillage

We took a walk back in time when we were in Labrador a few days ago. Saddle Island is just a short boat ride off the coast and is part of the Red Bay UNESCO World Heritage site. In the 16th century whalers from the Basque region of France and Spain came to create a whaling port because of large numbers of whales in the area. Saddle Island was where whales were brought ashore and whale oil rendered. The oil was then shipped off to Europe for lighting. There's an extensive boardwalk with markers showing important archaeological spots. Visitors can take a guided, or self guided tour around the island but I'd highly suggest taking the guided tour. Chris Bridle was our @parks.canada guide and is basically a walking encyclopedia with a deep knowledge of the topography of the island. He was able to point out features on the ground that I would've walked right by and give a detailed explanation of what we were looking at. Red Bay gained its @unescoworldheritage site designation because it's the most extensive, best preserved and most comprehensive whaling station of this type anywhere in the world. Don't forget to save and share this post to help your followers learn about this historically important region. @destinationlabrador @gowesternnl @parks.canada @canada @tmacontario @travelmediaca @newfoundlandlabrador #explorenl #ParksCanada #explorecanada #tmacnl30 #presstrip

My very first time seeing an iceberg!! As we were coming ashore in Labrador we saw an iceberg off in the distance. As soon as we came off the ferry we jetted over to see if we could catch a better view but it was still very far offshore. It didn't matter though, because I saw my very first iceberg in @destinationlabrador! #presstrip #tmacnl30 #ParksCanada #ExploreNL #ExploreCanada #labrador #iceberg

Some shots from around the small community of Woody Point in the heart of Gros Morne National Park in @gowesternnl. Fun fact: Woody Point is the snowiest inhabited community in Canada with a 'massive' population of 282 (as of 2016). I'm so glad we didn't visit during those months!! On the other hand, during the summer months the population almost triples! We also had lunch at The Merchant Warehouse but that post is for another day. @newfoundlandlabrador @parks.canada #explorenl #gowesternnl #tmacnl30

One of the local tours I chose to do in @destinationstjohns was a Puffin & Whale Watching tour. On these tours you're sure to see puffins, the cute birds with orange beaks and feet, but whales are never guaranteed. I guess luck was on our side today as we caught up with a mother and her calf making their way up from the Caribbean to feed. Huge thanks to the crew on @obrienstours for this unforgettable experience!! . . @travelmediaca @tmacontario @tobloggers @travelmassiveto @newfoundlandlabrador #tmacnl30 #whalewatching #whales #stjohns #onceinalifetime

I don't know what compelled me to take the walk from downtown @destinationstjohns to the top of Signal Hill but I did it! Was I huffing and puffing all the way up? Hell yes I was but the views were totally worth it. @tmacontario #signalhill #stjohns #newfoundlandandlabrador #tmacnl30
