A couple of weeks ago I was invited down to @ration.beverley for a @deanstonmalt Single Malt Scotch Whiskey event. There were 5 local bartenders competing for a $5000 prize and @elenii18 was the eventual winner. Afterwards, 8 of the guests were asked to go up against one another to create a cocktail on the spot. The winner got bragging rights and will have their cocktail on the Ration Beverly menu till Labour Day next month. I made a cocktail that had some tropical notes because I wanted to add some Trinidadian flair to it and called it The TriniDean. In the end my cocktail won and I can proudly say it's now on the menu at a @michelinguide RECOGNIZED RESTAURANT in Toronto!! It's only on the menu for a limited time but I'm still blown away!! A few photos from our day trip to Toledo, Spain. Toledo is Spain's living time capsule! It's the capital of the region and is famous for its Muslim, Jewish, and Christian monuments within its walls which is why it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site The city is known for its winding alleys, where a new sight greets you with every turn and you can just feel the rich history. The labyrinth of shops, are filled with local crafts and tons of delectable marzipan treats. The Toledo Cathedral is a sight to behold and is truly one of the most beautiful cathedrals I've ever seen. I'm a sucker for good ole Texas style BBQ and @jessies_q delivered this past Sunday! Pitmaster @mountainmilly doesn't have a storefront but instead has his smoker set up @steeltownciderco where he's doing a series of pop-ups. I love a good brisket but his Cheesy Jalapeno sausages gave the brisket a run for its money! The next event is happening on August 20th at 11am but make sure you get there early because there's bound to be a line up. Happy Monday, everyone! 🌟 How was your weekend? We went on a flooring hunt in Mississauga on Saturday, but man, finding the perfect one was like trying to find a traffic free street in Toronto! Who knew it could be this tough??! There was a silver lining to the search though as we stopped by Dynasty BBQ in the Dixie Park Centre's food court and found this duck leg soup. The dish itself was quite tasty but a drizzle, or two, of chili oil took it to a whole new level of deliciousness. The food court might be small, but there were tons of takeout trays just waiting for pickup. Hope you had a great weekend. Some more memories from Barcelona. When we were there we took a day trip to the Abbey of Montserrat. The Abbey and the surrounding little town is beautiful but the real views were from the top of the Montserrat mountain itself. From the abbey we took a funicular (the steepest in Spain) another 815 feet up the mountain to Sant Jeroni, 4055 ft above sea level.
