Galapagos Day 4 - Final Day We enjoyed one last day of snorkeling along a rift, where we saw dozens of types of fish as well as a 6-foot black-tipped reef shark! A short walk gave us the opportunity to see more Blue Footed Boobies and Marine Iguanas. Then more swim and snorkel time at Las Grietas, which is a landlocked channel of crystal clear water where the kids had a great time jumping in. Galapagos Day 3: An hour walk through the national park today took us to pristine Tortuga Bay. While some members of our group took a surf lesson, we hung out with the famous Marine Iguanas! Galapagos Day 2: On our second full day, we took a bumpy speedboat ride to the island of Santa Cruz, where the focus of the day was the Giant Tortoise. Dozens of these enormous reptiles wander the ranch freely. We learned how to know the gender (concave belly for males to make mating easier) and age of the tortoises (the smoother, the older). Galapagos Day 1: On our G Adventures Family Land Galapagos Tour, our first full day on San Cristobal Island took us on a short hike where we saw Blue Footed Boobies (from chicks through adults!), Frigates, Lava Lizards, Sally Light Foot Crabs, and a snake. Then, we got in the water to snorkel with Galapagos Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, rays, and a plethora of fish. As if that wasn't enough, we hung out at the beach, where some of the playful sea lions were very interested to see what we were up to, visited an interpretation center to learn more about the formation of the islands and their history in a global context, and finally relaxed on yet another beach teeming with sea lions! #familytravelsandadventures #galapagos #galapagosislands #ecuador #ecuadortravel #GAdventures #gadventures #familytravel #familytravelblog #adventuretravel

Tuesday Trip Spotlight: Scotland Heather just got back from her birthday trip to Scotland. Here's what she had to say about her trip to her family's homeland: "My brief but action packed trip began with the beautiful Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh. The views alone are breathtaking, but to have the amazing staff at our beck and call... they even brought birthday balloons with whisky and chocolates to celebrate. It was truly wonderful. The trip took us to Inverness for fly fishing, Oban for castle adventures and whisky tastings, and then Loch Lomond for the last few days of relaxation. Every place we stopped had amazing accommodations, incredible views, and not to forget the ever-so-pleasant Scottish hospitality. I couldn't begin to thank Kristin for her insight and suggestions, not to mention planning every little detail. Thank you Kristin. Tuesday Trip Spotlight: Belize Angela and family returned from an amazing Spring Break in Belize a few weeks ago. Their trip began at a treehouse lodge in the jungle, where they tubed through and explored caves and ziplined in the forest.
