Hey everyone, I hope you have stepped into 2021 “The Age of Aquarius” with clarity, self love & self accountability. I recently had to fall back from social media to do some major introspection and deal with emotional trauma that I wasn’t even fully aware of before. I came to the realization that I had been living with anxiety stemming from the way I was raised as a child. Now being a parent myself, it was even more important for me to identify and heal these wounds. Much like the reckoning and introspection we’re having as a country right now, my awakening is happening on a personal level. Progress requires acknowledging some hard truths, taking accountability and being really honest about how we got here. Realizing what has been in front of our faces all along, and finally being able to connect the dots in order to move on is not easy but it’s the only way to move forward. On brand with the theme of 2020, I had been harboring underlining issues that didn’t appear to be major until something brought them to light. And although I don’t normally discuss mental health publicly, I’m a staunch advocate, and plan to speak out more. I feel the need to dive into this deeper on my blog and will do so in the very near future. Thus far it’s been therapeutic analyzing the psychology behind why we are the way we are and has brought me some much needed clarity. It’s incredible how so much of our perspective of the external world is subconscious and to hold ourselves accountable requires more than we realize. What do you do with your tomato plants in the winter?! — So unless you have a greenhouse your tomato plant will most likely die off. BUT what you can do is take cuttings from your tomato plant (and pepper plants + herbs), and actually start to regrow them indoors. Tomato plants are one of the easiest to root, and almost guaranteed success. Once roots have been established, you can transfer them into a pot with dirt until they’re ready to go back outside in the spring! Did you know it takes over 24 months for a pineapple to grow into maturity and fruit, then it dies...well kinda. If you’re lucky, the mother plant produces pups that can eventually fruit, but ultimately a pineapple plant produces only a single pineapple. When you think about the amount of time and energy it takes to produce a single pineapple, you would think they’d be really expensive, right?!? Well, I’ve been growing this pineapple top for over two years now, but it hasn’t flowered yet. I’m pretty sure I need to transplant it into the ground. We’ll see what happens but I’m so intrigued by the process.
