7 Reasons I Stopped Couponing (and still save money!)

Because I loved shopping so much I spent my free time looking up great deals and couponing for items for the family. Between working from home AND being a stay at home mom to my son I can hardly find time to wash my hair let alone spend an hour everyday finding deals and planning the shopping trips. Even with health, beauty and home items, I do my best to go natural and cruelty free which greatly limits the coupons that are useful to me since most coupons are for mainstream products. Sure we got a good deal, but now that I’m in a home of my own and I prefer not being crowded in with items I just can’t bare having shelves full of stockpiled items.

Feeding your baby fresh and healthy food

It’s easy to just cop out and say that it’s simply too hard to feed your baby fresh, healthy food, but that’s just not true! It helps that I love fruit, but having fruit chopped and ready to eat is great because you don’t have to go through the whole ordeal of chopping the fruit and cleaning up when your baby is ready for food. It’s a great way to make sure he’s getting plenty of nutrients in at least one meal a day so if the rest of the day it’s not quite as easy to get healthy food to him, I know he’s not doing too bad.

NICU Must Haves for Mom

As most professionals will tell you, breast milk is the best option for babies (if possible), especially NICU babies. I was pumping 8-9 times a day for the first few months to help feed him in the NICU and to keep my supply up until he was able to breastfeed directly. I won’t even tell you how many hours a day I spent watching movies and TV because it’s hard to do much else when you have giant bottles hanging from your chest. When you’re pumping out several ounces of milk an hour, you’re bound to need more hydration!
