My Baking Station: A winning recipe for kitchen organization

And, it’s this nod to vintage Hoosier cabinets that helped inspire my plan to create an organized and free-standing baking center in my kitchen. So, while searching for a more utilitarian kitchen cabinet for this space, I totally fell in love with this Millstone kitchen island from Ballard Designs. I should also mention this Millstone kitchen island also has a matching table that would add even more countertop space to your kitchen and looks pretty amazing with a couple of stools for some casual dining! I finally have a decent amount of countertop space for baking cookies, using my stand mixer, and even ample space for serving my delicious treats.

Vintage Style Sconces for a Small Bathroom

See how adding aged brass accents inspired by new vintage style sconces gave this small bathroom a new and glam look. And today, I’m sharing a mini bathroom refresh with new vintage-inspired wall sconces and ceiling light. In order to make these aged brass sconces work into my existing bathroom style, I need to also incorporate additional brass accents. It’s a stall shower, so we always had to find a super short towel bar and it always seemed to look a bit messy with the subway tile – not to mention the times it lost its suction and fell off.

Vintage Thermos Wood Slice Fall Decor

I was inspired by the patterns on my vintage thermos collection to create some chic fall decor with new 2020 Americana Acrylic colors from DecoArt and some wood slices as my canvas. And since it’s another #ThermosThursday I thought it would be fun to create some custom art inspired by some of my favorite retro thermos pattern using DecoArt’s Americana Acrylics in the new 2020 colors, now available at Hobby Lobby. Americana Acrylics the following colors: Cactus Flower, Warm Sunset, Eucalyptus Leaf, Jadeite Glass, Summer Squash, and Light Mocha First, gather your vintage thermoses and start sketching your pattern inspiration on the wood slices with a pencil. These new Americana Acrylic colors are the perfect way to modernize some of the retro thermos patterns I chose.

Spray-Painted Plaid Metal Stool Upcycle

That’s because I was equipped with a few cans of Original Plasti Dip spray paint in some of my favorite vintage-inspired Classic Muscle colors. There are lots of ways I could have tackled this old metal stool project, but Original Plasti Dip spray paint is a speedy, quick fix with a flexible coating that resists chips – an important consideration before I bring something rusty inside! Use painter’s tape to create your stripes and to keep it easy, I make my stripes the same width as the tape so my stripes are even without having to measure. Get yours at Amazon Rusty metal vintage finds can be transformed into smooth and chic home decor easily with the Original Plasti Dip.
