You are going to leave under your parent’s care and cleave to your future husband. It’s kinda for the same reasons as to why it’s important to share with your parents first. Then there’s the part where you have to begin to merge your life with your future husband’s. Marriages have been saved, women have gotten engaged, and hearts have been restored, all because no matter what was going on in their season, they made a choice to go to God in simple prayer, that lead to major results.

And when you put it that way, being my husband’s helper doesn’t sound weak at all! The husband’s responsibility is not only to lead but to lead as Christ lead. And I’m pretty sure that the reason has a lot to do with how each of those qualities will compliment your husband and his strengths, gifts, and voice so that what you do together will ultimately glorify God. It’s time we stop listening to a clueless world and start understanding God’s ultimate plan.
