New Releases from Taylored Expressions

I'm thrilled to be a guest designer at Taylored Expressions today, as I get to help introduce some new products being released that were designed by my dear friend, Heather Nichols! Next, I used the Simply Stamped-Feathers stamp set and coordinating dies, to stamp the feathers. I stamped a sentiment from Heather's Wild and Free stamp set (also red rubber) on the card base, and finished the card off with a couple strips of solid colored card stock. This Plum Punch and Dijon in particular, were a joy to stamp with, because when you stamp them at half strength (so, stamp it off once first), you get softer but still really vibrant lighter tones of the same colors.

Book Report: March 2019

If you saw my Stories on Instagram today, this is the one I was talking about when I said I just couldn't talk about this one without spoiling the surprise for you, should you happen to read this one! This is one of those titles that has a combination of a modern-day story and flashbacks to a story set back in history, so it's kind of the best of both worlds, if you're someone like me who enjoys both modern and historical books. So, I'm not gonna tell you the whole premise of the story here, but let me just say that that the darling cover and the description that one of the main characters inherited a knitting and quilting store, were all I needed to know to be hooked! A cozy weekend in front of the fire with a good book to read and my handsome man by my side (no doubt, watching sports on tv while I read), as it snows like crazy outside, is just fine by me!

Spellbinders: New Collections Inspirations Blog Hop

The Spellbinders crew reached out to me to see if I'd want to participate in their blog hop and use a few of their die sets from the new Shadowbox die collection by Becca Feeken, to create some cards with, and I happily agreed! You could literally watercolor a few panels of card stock and then die cut them and pop a whole pile of flowers together in literally no time at all, once your watercolor is dry! I used the new Vintage Starburst Valance and Gatefold die set, to cut out a panel that I used as a stencil on the top of my card! I added a strip of green card stock, as well as a scalloped strip that was cut with another die from that same Starburst set.

Book Report : January Edition

Book posts are some of my most-asked-for posts, so I'm going to try to do a better job of sharing a few books more often rather than more books less often! This one is modern day fiction and I was excited to read this one because it's by the same author who wrote one of my favorite books ever (Room for Hope)! I don't know that it was on the same level as Room for Hope for me, just because I think Room for Hope is one of the best books I've ever read! In past book posts, I've shared the first two books in this series as well as several others she's written, because I love me some Julie Klassen fiction!
