This morning I checked out of Aqua Sol - formerly known as Liki Tiki Village. This resort is clear on the other side of Disney, closer to Animal Kingdom and Flamingo Crossings. It was the most inconvenient location so far, but definitely the best room! My sister stayed with me in a 2 bedroom and we enjoyed free mini golf and the pool which was like a mini water park. This timeshare was my cheapest stay for the entire trip. It was half the points of a couple of my stays.
Just across the street from Grande Villas is Cypress Pointe. This was a studio efficiency room with just a mini fridge and microwave. Timeshare points are significantly more expensive on Friday and Saturday nights, so the best deal was this place. It was super convenient being right outside of Disney Springs. Cypress Pointe was originally owned by Diamond Resorts, which is our original timeshare but a couple years ago it was bought out by Hilton Grand Vacations. So now, Hilton uses these as a “lesser brand” and calls them Hilton Vacation Club Resorts (without the Grand).
I’ve been in Florida for a week hopping around to a bunch of our timeshare properties around Orlando. I only use my timeshare points on stays where I’m saving money compared to booking a regular hotel room. When we bought the timeshare for my 25th birthday they kept saying we only had enough points for 7-10 nights a year and we’ve consistently gotten 20-25 nights a year. First up for this trip was Grande Villas - A Hilton Vacation Club resort just outside of Disney Springs! This was a 1 bedroom with a full kitchen.
