They like special treats and readily approach without aggression. Who knew? I visited the Hoosier Buggy Shop, where the owner makes Amish buggies one at a time using various traditional and modern materials and techniques. Well-built and maintained buggies can serve their purpose for 20 years or more. I asked in a couple of places why all the buggies in the Shipshewana area are black, and the answer seemed to be that it had always been that way.
