4 TIPS FOR FLYING YOUR DRONE IN WIND 💨 1. Fly against the wind, get your shots, then let riiiiide the wind back 2. Get as high as you need to get the shots, but nothing more. Today isn’t the day to fly super high 3. Give yourself extra battery time to land 4. Don’t go for the Timelapse or hyperlapse, on windy days, your drone will shake around enough that it’s a nightmare in the editing process to smooth it out TONS of videos and also EXERCISES to practice flying in wind to build your CONFIDENCE is on my drone channel. 🤘🏽 Share this and follow @christinelozada for more drone tips #dronetips #dronevideo #dronelife #drones #djidrones #dronepilot #dronetutorial

If you are SCARED to fly your drone in wind DO THIS…. A great one for a 2 minute test in your backyard or a nearby park where you won’t piss anyone off. 1. Launch your drone and LEAVE IT at 3 feet for 20 seconds 2. Then bring it to 20 feet 3. Then 50 feet 4. Then 100 feet 5. then 150 6. Then.. blah blah blah And at each step LEAVE IT. WATCH IT. CHECK YOUR HEART RATE. Most people jump into the deep end. Play in the kiddie pool first! Your drone can fly in more wind than you’d expect. The key? Do what’s COMFORTABLE FOR YOU. Technically your drone can take 2/3 the max speed of YOU in sport mode “of wind”. I.e. if you fly the Mavic Mini 3 pro, the max speed is 35 mph. 35 mph * 2/3 Your drone can take 23 mph of wind. 🤘🏽 Share this and follow @christinelozada for more drone tips #dronetips #dronevideo #dronelife #drones #djidrones #dronepilot

EMOJIS ONLY! Where ya traveling next? Me:☀️🌴🌊✈️❄️🏔️🎿 Where I’ve been: - I was in Mexico a LONG time (Tulum, Playa del Carmen and Holbox) - Went to Vegas for my FIRST vacation in years!
Current status: - I’ve got my parents coming to Florida for some fun adventures! Next up: - Looking forward to skiing and connecting with tons of travelers and creators in Salt Lake City for @wanderfulcreators and @sheswanderful WITS! This photo taken in Playa del Carmen at the pool party hosted by @womenstravelfest by amazing photographer @lunavandoorne Tell me where YOU are headed next! #travelgram #traveltheworld #travelmoments #dronephoto #dronestagram

UPDATE *BEFORE* YOU GO FLY YOUR DRONE! Especially if you haven’t flown in awhile… - Turn on your drone and controller the DAY before you plan to fly (or a few hours before) - Get everything updated - Recharge batteries If you are flying somewhere remote, your drone might be sooooooo slow to update if you have been cellular connection. I have seen times where major updates happen and you’re waiting 15-30 minutes for it to update, and now half your battery is gone. (Like putting champagne in the fridge)…. Get it done EARLY and OFTEN. Just because you don’t have a notification doesn’t mean there isn’t an update. Flying WITHOUT the updates can affect - Your ability to take off - Your drone functioning correclty (one time I couldn’t get my drone to land because I flew it without updating it. that’s another story…) How: -Settings -About -Check firmware update / check flysafe database update OR -profile -see if there is an update 🤘🏽 Share this and follow @christinelozada for more drone tips #dronesofinstagram #dronesaregood #dronetravel #lovedrones #letsflydrones #dronequeen

Your drone might not TAKE OFF… *MISPERCEPTION* DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE “If I don’t update the firmware, then I’m not subject to the new rules!” WRONG! Especially with major updates, this means your drone won’t even take off from the ground! It USED to be the case that you could “get away with things” by not updating your firmware. Unfortunately DJI got smart. 🤘🏽 Share this and follow @christinelozada for more drone tips #dronetips #dronevideo #dronelife #drones #djidrones #dronepilot

CALIBRATE YOUR DRONE ESPECIALLY AFTER TRAVEL What happens if you DO NOT? Your drone can “drift” - i.e. have a difficult time picking up on GPS and if you’re flying in ANY kind of tight space, or launch your drone near something, it’s not uncommon for it to well.. drift into that thing. It takes just a minute, calibrate it! 💥 How to: -Three dots -Safety -Calibrate drone PEOPLE ALWAYS MESSSGE ME “PSHHHHHT I DONT HAVE TO CALIBRATE. I NEVER DO THAT” My response?
Great! Do you, boo. But when you DO have a flight in which you realized “ohhhhhh sh** I needed to calibrate my drone” then sorry not so 🤘🏽 Share this and follow @christinelozada for more drone tips #dronetips #dronevideo #dronelife #drones #djidrones #dronepilot

You gotta TELL the platform you DON’T want pixelated footage! Well, unless pixelated footage is the new trend. Do you, boo. TELL the platform to POST in HIGH QUALITY! TOP MISTAKES POSTING DRONE FOOTAGE (4 of 4) Most people don’t know that not only will the editing program compress your drone footage (from step 2), but the platform will, too! And it’s not just IG! Others will do it, too and you gotta tell it not to. From the post or reel…. > scroll to advanced settings > then check the box for YES “upload in highest quality” 🤘🏽 Share this and follow @christinelozada for more drone tips #dronevideo #drones #dronetips #womenwhodrone #dronestagram #creatortips #photography📷 #dronefly

WRONG! 🛑🚫 DON’T POST CACHED FOOTAGE! HUGE mistake people make… they shot in 4k (step 1) woohoo!! But then they don’t realize… they are looking at and editing cached footage. “Why do my 4K shots look pixelated? I don’t get it?!” TURN OFF CACHED FOOTAGE!!!! TOP MISTAKES POSTING DRONE FOOTAGE (3 of 4) What is “cache when recording” - it’s allowing you to SEE your footage as you’re shooting it. But it’s showing you what the screen is looking at (and not what the drone is actually recording). It’s kinda of like… imagine going to a movie theater, then put your phone up to record the movie while you’re watching that movie. Is the movie going to look better? Or the footage through your phone 👀 Translation: it’s a LOW QUALITY “quick look” of your footage. Mistake: Most people think this IS the footage. Turn it off! >three dots in the controller >camera >scroll down “turn off” the “cache when recording” 🤘🏽 Share this and follow @christinelozada for more drone tips #dronevideo #drones #dronetips #droneshots #videography #womenwhodrone

ALWAYS SHOOT DRONE FOOTAGE IN HIGH QUALITY! TOP MISTAKES FOR POSTING DRONE FOOTAGE (1 of 4) Shoot in high quality - specifically in 4K if you can! TOP MISTAKE: people think their cached footage is the acutal footage. 2ND TOP MISTAKE: people shoot in less than 1080p Often you can “get away” with shooting in 1080p, but every platform will COMPRESS your footage. So if you are able to (i.e. you have the storage space for it), why NOT shoot in the highest quality possible? This means: shoot in 4k (or at least 2.7k) and if you don’t care “that much” then in 1080. Depending on HOW you will edit your footage (are you slowing it down?) then shoot in MORE than 30 fps. Here I might slow it down a tinnnny bit - so I’ve filmed in 60 fps (vs. if I slow it down A LOT) then I might shoot in 120 fps or more. 🤘🏽 Share this and follow @christinelozada for more drone tips #dronetips #dronevideo #djidrones #womenwhodrone #dronelife #dronevideography
