Let’s talk party decor!! For me, a fabulous party has a cohesive color palette, elegant touches, intimate and creative details and targeted lighting (if it’s an evening event). I love how this one turned out. We covered my client’s pool with an acrylic dance floor and wrapped the border with a custom design. Zoom in on these florals - they are simply spectacular! The perfect Normandy itinerary below! What a treat. So much history, friendly folks, beautiful scenic drives, and amazing food and drink (I mean it’s France after all)! We will be back!!! Be sure to save this post for your trip to Normandy! Day 1: arrive in Honfleur. Walk around and shop for goodies (cider, Calvados, nougat). Lunch at L’Absynthe Restaurant. Drive to Port-en-Bessin and check into Airbnb. Day 2: Omaha beach, Normandy American cemetery, cider & Calvados tasting at Bernard Leclerc. Dinner at Le Bistro d’à Côté. Day 3: Visit St. Mere Eglise then head to Utah beach and the Utah Beach Landing Museum. Stop by a cookie factory for some treats (Biscuitterie de Quineville). Pickup some pre-dinner oysters at the vending machine in Les Parcs St Vaast. Attempt to climb the Gatteville Lighthouse but the winds were too strong. Taste some more cider and Calvados at Cidricchus - Cidre Simon Lemarie. Dinner at Les Ports des Brumes. Day 4: Pickup some morning pastries en route to Mont Saint Michel. Have you ever been to Mont Saint-Michel? When I was a kid my grandpa had a postcard from here on his fridge, and I thought it was the most amazing place I’d ever seen. I knew one day I just had to see it in person. My husband and I went 14 years ago, and this year we decided to take our kids. My grandpa never got the chance, but I think of him every time I see this place. In my honest opinion, this 8th century tidal island is best viewed from the mainland. There’s a well oiled bus shuttle system that churns tourists from the car park to the island entrance. It’s packed. The narrow, windy roads lined with tourist shops make it feel even more crowded. Because we were stopping here en route to our hotel, we got there later than we wanted. I’d definitely recommend arriving early or perhaps later in the afternoon. What?! An oyster vending machine? Did you read that right? You sure did!! And we found it in St. Vaast in Normandy. They had two different sized and priced oyster options, and sold them by the dozen. They even sold oyster salt and shucking knives! Grab a baguette and some local cider, and you have yourself the perfect picnic!
