Adventure Sports in Mexico That I Can't Wait to Try in July

There are plenty of vacation rentals in Mexico that I can base myself in for a week while I explore the best of the Yucatan Peninsula from above and below the ocean. While most people prefer to travel to Mexico when it’s freezing and snowing in their hometown, I prefer to travel in the off-season to save some money. While I’m still debating whether I’ll do a Whale Shark snorkel tour or try my chances with diving, I want to ensure I pick a tour operator who follows the rules and ensures no customers touch the animals. I will admit that I’m not a huge Mexican food fan, but I discovered while on a food tour in Mexico City, that authentic Mexican food is delicious.

Meet Whiskr: Flight Deals for Flexible Travelers

Unlike other search engines, you can’t purchase the ticket through Whiskr nor does it give you a link out to the deal on the airline’s website. Whiskr only searches for flight deals through major airlines that you can purchase directly through the airline website. While I love that you can purchase the flight deal through the airline, I wish the pop-up with all the details included a link to the airline website with the dates I selected. Since Whiskr doesn’t earn commissions through flight sales or have advertisements, Whiskr does have a small service fee.

Diaries of a Wandering Lobster

I’ve only officially traveled once for business, but as an experienced traveler who just spent the past 17 months traveling and living abroad, I certainly picked up a few tricks to make business travel easier. For example, if I have an early or late flight, I prefer a hotel close to the airport with a free airport shuttle. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my 17 months abroad as a digital nomad with a love of scuba diving and horses, it isn’t fun to carry around a 70-liter backpack, a small carry-on roller, and a small backpack with my computer and laptop gear. Just because you’re traveling for work doesn’t mean you should skip the gym or eat all the fried food at the airport.

Canada Roadtrip: Niagara Falls to Montreal by Car

What better way to enjoy the last bits of summer than with a Canada road trip from Niagara Falls to Montreal? After visiting a friend in New York City, I’d drive northwest to Niagara Falls to visit the famous falls on both sides of the border. After a long drive, I’d plan to stretch my legs and take a short hike on one of the many trails in Niagara Gorge. If time allows, I’d like to spend a day following the wine trail around charming Niagara-on-the-Lake.
