The Cowboy Way and Those Alabama Boys

Having lived this lifestyle for 26+ years, I was more than giddy to see a show about cowboys on INSP, and even giddier at the opportunity to interview the cowboys, Booger, Bubba, and Cody from The Cowboy Way. When I saw the cowboys from The Cowboy Way were Alabama boys, I was curious to see how they cowboy up in their part of the country. Booger, Bubba, and Cody will tell you, The Cowboy Way is more than a show. While I wasn’t surprised about Booger or even Bubba, I was surprised to hear Cody’s answer.

Homemade Salsa with 5 Ingredients

I’ve made hot sauce for years that has always been a favorite around here until, one day, a good friend of ours, Jason Coldiron, introduced us to his Coldiron Salsa. You’re getting powerful flavor from the cilantro, onion, and jalapenos but the star ingredient is Fajita seasoning. 1 large can or 2 small cans of whole or diced tomatoes about a ¼ bottle of fajita seasoning (or to taste) Add onion, cilantro, jalapenos in food processor or chopper and pulse a few times. Add in tomatoes with juice & fajita seasoning, and pulse until all is chopped and mixed well.

Lemon Cake Cookies

These Lemon Cake Cookies came from this book and they were a hit over the holidays y’all! so I made candy and baked cookies, Lemon Cake cookies to be specific. These are cake cookies y’all, using 5 ingredients so I ain’t gonna lie, I don’t have much to say about them, other than I got lots of compliments on how good they were! Wouldn’t it be great to surprise your neighbor or mail carrier with some cookies?

Heart to Heart Over Cheerios

You’re raising your eyebrow on that, I know, but after raising 3 boys, sometimes you gotta be clever to get kiddos to listen & share on topics that they don’t necessarily want to talk about. After hearing this, I knew I wanted to sit down with Truett and talk to him but let’s be real, what 12-year-old boy wants to sit and discuss things like this with his mother? It’s amazing how easy a conversation can because of a delicious bowl of Maple Cheerios. Quick note: If you don’t see the Maple Cheerios down the cereal aisle at Walmart, check the end caps or middle of the big aisles.
