It’s really so hard to put into words what it meant for my Poppop to hang on long enough to see his first granddaughter get engaged. This is the picture of us FaceTiming him and the smile he had on his face is an image I will hold onto forever. This past weekend has been an emotional rollercoaster. Getting engaged one day and then having to go to his funeral the next, was a very uneasy thing to do. I was so excited to be engaged but I was also so sad to lose him. All my Poppop ever cared about was his family and our happiness and I know that he would’ve wanted me to enjoy this time and celebrate. But it was hard. To my Poppop, thank you for holding on for me. I’m so happy you got to live to know my fiancé and to witness my engagement. Jason told me he showed you the ring weeks ago and its so special that you got to have that moment. It hurts my heart knowing you won’t physically be at my wedding but I do know you’ll be there in spirit watching down, making sure everything goes as planned (as you always do.) I know you were worried about Mimi, but don’t worry, we’ll take care of her. I love you, rest in peace 🫶🏻
