How to Choose Your Travel Bag

Picking which bag to take on your next adventure is the first step in starting to pack. It helps you determine the amount of stuff you can bring and how you plan on schlepping your stuff during your trip. To help you make an informed decision, I put together a few questions and answers to guide your thought process. Do I need to be nimble and hands-free?

Should I Pack Jeans?

In fact, cotton like that is stiff, hard to wash, slow to dry, and doesn’t have any particularly special properties like thermo-regulating or antimicrobial. Sometimes in your day-to-day, you couldn’t go a week without wearing a pair of jeans, however, think about your destination and the life you’ll be living there. If you’re in a warmer climate or on vacation (or both!), it may inspire you to wear breezier, more relaxed items or a white summer jean with a looser fit! If you pack ones you feel medium about, you may wake up and hate everything in your suitcase and that’s not a fun way to start a day.

10 Tips for Buying Great Travel-Friendly Gifts

Every year, I love putting together a holiday gift guide to help people shop for the jet setters, nomads, and travel-lovers in their lives. Think of it this way, the people who wear t-shirts purchased on a vacation aren’t usually the ones who travel a lot. Or, a custom charm bracelet might be a thoughtful way to remember each new trip, but if that person doesn’t wear jewellery, that gift will just collect dust. Things like Netflix membership, Apple or Spotify memberships, or an Audible audio-book membership are all great options that are more eco-friendly than another piece of clothing, and less impersonal than a gift card.

How to Pack for Two Weeks in St. Louis

I didn’t spend the full two weeks in St. Louis, in fact, I did St. Louis to Kansas City, and Kansas City to Seattle. However, I’ve already shared packing lists for Kansas City and one for Seattle, so for this trip, let’s pretend this packing list is dedicated to St. Louis only. Luckily, this was a trip of two back-to-back conference weekends, which means doing a lot of the same activities twice over: speaking engagement, social events, and a lot of time in a company t-shirt. In the middle, I’d be crashing at my brother’s house instead of flying back to Montreal, a decision that ended up saving me time, money, and allowing me to catch up with family a little bit.
