The moment I saw Ashlyn in her dress, all I could think to myself was, “She looks like Meghan Markle. And she doesn’t just have a dress like Meghan’s This year I seriously considered retiring from wedding photography. I took a break in the summer to really think about it and then felt like maybe I would give it one last try.

These two have the most wonderful story about how they met and fell in love. Ultimately, Derek and I made the difficult decision that being friends would be the best for both our personal growth and development. This portion of our love story not only made me fall hard for Derek but gave us the opportunity to develop a uniquely strong friendship with one another. Falling in love with Derek was always very easy, and the sacrifices we had to make for one another is a part of our love story that is very beautiful and special to me.

If you have ever been to our blog before you know that Kelsie, Taylor and their adorable children are some of our favorites. I first photographed Kelsie and Taylor at their amazing wedding and have been able to be a part of every moment since. Some of my more recent favorites include Olive’s newborn session, then this family session, Kelsie’s maternity session, and most recently Mr. Riggins newborn session. And I was also so excited to shoot at this new location in Bountiful and it couldn’t have turned out better.

When she fell in love with Mitch, I was there to take her engagement, bridal, and wedding photos. She and Mitch were then models for me at Photo Native, which unbeknownst to everyone little baby June was growing in her mommies tummy at the time. I count this little family, and her sister and mother as some of my favorite people in the world and feel so lucky to have been able to be piece of their lives. I also love now that despite both starting in other cities and towns we now live so close to each other so our friendship and my ability to take their family photos can continue.
