My Daytime Skincare Routine

A lot of people are not aware that skincare and makeup are intertwined – the better your skin looks, the better your makeup will look. Therefore, it is crucial to have an established skincare routine to treat and prevent any skin concern. Just like I love to try new makeup products, I’m always looking to try new skincare products that will improve my skin. Finding the appropriate skincare products for my skin has required a lot of trial-and-error, but when I come across something that works, I like to incorporate it into my routine.

My Go-To Quick Glam – No Eyeshadow

Doing a full face of makeup can sometimes be a daring task for many people; most times there are so many steps involved and so little time to get ready! However, I find that when I need to get ready and I want to up my look without spending time on eyeshadow, a dark lipstick gives me that glammed up look without trying so hard. You can do your typical face makeup routine, but add a dark lipstick and people will automatically assume that it took you much longer! For example, I love using beauty sponges because I can apply my foundation, concealer and powder in a breeze.

My Glossier Product Collection

I’m so happy they decided to set up a pop-up here in Miami (sadly, just until May 5th! ) because it allowed me to have some more one-on-one play time with their products. It’s aesthetic is inspired by Miami’s signature art deco and tropical fruits like mangos (because who doesn’t love mangos! Here’s my little collection of Glossier products: I snagged this beauty at their Miami pop-up shop. The formula is so comfortable, I barely feel like I’m wearing makeup.

Welcome to BeautyHyped!

When I turned 15, my mom gifted me a small makeup pouch with some basic drugstore makeup essentials like face powder, blush, eyeliner, mascara and a Revlon eyeshadow quad. I began obsessing over beauty YouTube videos, reading beauty blogs and testing out makeup that I was finally able to afford (yay post-graduate full-time job! ). I became so passionate about makeup that I opted to take a break from my Human Resources career to attend the Blush School of Makeup in San Francisco. Fast track to now, I have acquired more experience freelancing as a makeup artist, completed another makeup artistry course at Academy of Glam in South Florida and also became a licensed Facial Specialist in Florida.
