Making time for ME.

Life has been hectic around here lately. I’ve panicked about money and retirement and will I be alone forever?! I’ve hung with some fave people and refilled my connection tank

Prioritizing PLEASURE.

Self-care for me used to mean pedicures, massages and weekends with friends. Self-care was defined as ‘things which made me feel nurtured‘ and which relaxed me

When trust is broken.

A role-reversal of sorts (or role-same’al with her, again, as Rory) and the only way I could think my way out was to focus upon how I’d created the trust in the first place. We may not always agree, but we put trust and faith in the other person’s judgment. We’ve created a climate of mutual respect where, even if the honesty du jour is not what the other person wants to hear, we *still* show up bearing the facts. On every level it’s the same thing I’ve told her when she has violated my trust.

Have we failed our girls?

These challenges, however, spark me to question the myriad ways society has potentially failed our daughters, too. I can’t find a way around the notion we’ve sexualized them even if our own specific girls aren’t exploring the sexy. We’ve failed them by sexualizing them at increasingly younger ages and we slut shame and dress code shame them around the fact they’re too sexual. * Do you have a sense we’ve failed our daughters?
