The Democrats' Sad Circus

The witty South Carolina senator, who’s usually more entertaining than most comedians, has been one of the highlights of the otherwise depressing televised Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. “I’m here to defend circuses,” Graham said, pointing out that it was safe for parents to take their kids to the circus but not to let them watch Senate confirmation hearings – as Judge Kavanaugh found out Tuesday when his daughters had to be taken out of the raucous chamber. It’s been sad to watch what dumb things self-serving Senate Democrats like him are willing to do to discredit a highly qualified nominee like Kavanaugh. So while Booker and the other members of the Democrat circus cry and make clowns of themselves on national TV, let me be the first to congratulate Judge Kavanaugh on his appointment to the U. S. Supreme Court.

NYT OP-ED: The president fights back

Then there is the unseemly praise in the op-ed of the recently departed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), one of the most corrosive Republican figures of recent decades, which tells us all we need to know about the author’s motives. It’s the same old baseless leftist smear that Trump’s right-of-center policies somehow make him a white nationalist. Then there’s this gem of a paragraph that contains the standard foreign policy lies pushed nowadays by the Left: Take foreign policy: In public and in private, President Trump shows a preference for autocrats and dictators, such as President Vladimir Putin of Russia and North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, and displays little genuine appreciation for the ties that bind us to allied, like-minded nations. Adding insult to injury, the op-ed author acknowledges Trump’s accomplishments by name – “effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more” – but refuses to acknowledge his leadership, instead giving credit to “unsung heroes in and around the White House.

Former President "Barry Obama" attacks Very Successful Donald Trump

Former President Obama subjected students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to an hour-long verbal tranquilizer Friday as he attacked President Trump and stuck to his usual specialty: mendacity and self-love. But President Obama figured that even after an eight-year presidency, which itself followed a year-long campaign filled with lofty if conceited language, the world still needed to hear more of his words. I was surprised how far into the speech President Obama got before accusing President Trump and other Republicans of racism, which these days is usually the first accusation out of a progressive’s mouth. He said he “got Iran to halt its nuclear program,” even though the since-abandoned deal he purchased from the mullahs actually sanctified Iran’s nuclear program, and left the country with the means to make the bomb.

It’s Time For A Conservative Purge

Mitt threatens to steal his Strange New Respect spotlight, and watch those two have the world’s most passive aggressive mean girl fight for the mantle of leadership of the anti-Trump GOP Senate contingent. By the way, my dream is for Ben Sasse to write an epically fussy review of Militant Normals in the dying cruise trip brochure that is The Weekly Standard which I can then proudly wear like it a medal. The problem is not people with criticisms of Donald Trump – he’s not an ideological conservative, so we need to keep him focused. You won’t fight hard to defund people who are killing babies, think it’s cool to diss the flag at football games, are happy about non-submissive conservatives being silenced by liberal tech companies, write stuff no one reads, and have strong opinions about Star Trek.
