Had a little bit of paradise. 🏝⠀ @daphe.nolita during this “NYC shut-in life”⠀ ⠀ My usual pristine skin that I have always been so proud of since my teens has gone through the ringer. 🥊⠀ A Vitamin D3 Deficiency ⠀ “The Hunger Games” of birth controls 🏹💊🙇‍♀️⠀ and thanks to winter- ⠀ my heater becoming my closest friend. 🌨🥶🏠🥺⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Luckily 🍀 I was able to go to @daphne.nolita ⠀ Where I had their Signature European facial with Oxygen. This year with the lockdown and outdoor dinning not being ideal I thought all hope was lost😔 ⠀ ⠀ Thank you @yoon_nyc_1964 for the amazing meal and experience. My #mebreak was spent journaling, meditating, daily affirmations, mantras, & doing whatever amount of yoga. I could while having a broken 😳🤕⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Visualization meditation which is a technique focused on enhancing feelings of relaxation, peace, & calmness by visualizing positive scenes or images. With this practice It’s important to Imagine the scene vividly & Use all 5 senses to add as much detail as possible⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5 min Visualization Meditation Practice 🧘‍♂️🧘⠀ ⠀ • Sit/lay comfortably⠀ make sure to sit with your spine erect & straight with palms always face up.⠀⠀⠀⠀ That way you are ready to receive all the good energy⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ •Gently close your eyes⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ • Take a deep breath ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Filling up your belly & chest with air⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ •Softly exhale all the air out of your lungs⠀⠀⠀ Do this for a few breaths. Allow yourself to be in the space you are & just let go⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ •Focus on your breathing⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ •Envision a bright golden light let the lights warm glow completely surround you. 💥🎉THANK YOU all for the BIRTHDAY 🎉❤️ ⠀ ⠀ The only thing I can ask for this birthday is for everyone to give a 🎁 to themselves.⠀ ⠀ A #MEBREAK ⠀ ⠀ It doesn’t have to be a whole month or a week.⠀ ⠀ Give yourself just 1 day with NO socials.⠀ ⠀ Just pick one day that is just for you.⠀ ⠀ • Spend time with friend’s offline In a safe environment. I know #Covid19 has our people to people connections in complete disorder, but We all need the face-to-face company of others to be happy and healthy. 😀💪⠀ At its best, social media is a great tool for facilitating real-life connections. But if you allow virtual connections to replace real-life friendships in your life that’s not healthy. ⠀ ⠀ • Turn your phone off. Not only do phones waste a lot of our time, but they can also detract from our physical health & mental health.⠀ *Turning your phone off can also be good for your phone. Constantly⠀ Having your phone on, & never letting it turn off; can damage the battery life.⠀ ⠀ • Exercise ⠀ Improves mental health by reducing anxiety depression, & negative moods & by improving self-esteem & cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem & social withdrawal ⠀ • Trying Something New⠀ Learning causes the brain to build connections between neurons, replacing some of those we lose over time. Not having new experiences & learning new things will slow your brain down & make it less responsive. Adult learning has been shown to slow the onset and progression of Alzheimer’s & dementia, as well as just preventing general slowing of your mental faculties ⠀ • READ A BOOK⠀ Books are an invaluable but underutilized resource that can increase empathy, enhance recovery, & inspire those with mental health difficulties.⠀ Regular reading not only improves mental health, but also means that you could enjoy a longer life than those who don't read. Yale University School of Public Health found in 2016 that those who read books had a 20% reduction risk of death over 12 years, compared to non-book readers.⠀ ⠀ So my Birthday wish for all of my friends, loved ones, & followers is to sit back turn off your phone & take a much needed #mebreak 💋

It’s the END of my Social Media Month cleanse. One of the biggest things I have taken away from this whole experience is GRATITUDE 🙏 ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ 3.6 billion people are now on social media that’s 51% of the global population. ⠀⠀ With more than 376 million new users since⠀ 2019, that translates to almost 12 new users every second. The combined time that the world spends using social media now adds up to more than 1 million years every day.⠀🤯⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Now more than ever we rely on social media platforms to find & connect with other’s. While each platform has its benefits, it’s important to remember that social media can’t be a replacement for real-world human connection.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Spending too much time engaging with social media can actually make you feel more lonely & isolated— and exacerbate mental health problems such as anxiety & depression.😨⠀⠀ Many of us access social media purely out of habit or to mindlessly kill moments of downtime. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ By focusing on your motivation for logging on, you cannot only reduce the time you spend on social media; but also improve your experience & avoid many of the negative aspects.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ When you go to access social media, 🤚pause for a moment & clarify your motivation for doing so.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Are you using social media as a substitute for real life? ⠀🤔⠀ ⠀⠀ Are you an active or a passive user on social media? Passively scrolling through posts doesn’t provide any meaningful sense of connection. Increasing feelings of isolation. Being an active participant, will offer you more engagement with others.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Does your social media platform leave you feeling inadequate or disappointed about your life? ⠀ ⠀⠀ Here are some tips if you or anyone you know is feeling resentment, animosity, & discontent sometimes generated by social media⠀ •Take time for reflection⠀ •keep a gratitude journal⠀ •Volunteer⠀ •Practice mindfulness. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ❤️🎉🎁My early birthday present to myself this year was some “Me Time” a Month off of social media while I focused on learning & some inner reflection❤️🎁🎉⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ My next few posts will about what I did during my month off & how I came up with the idea of a #mebreak

Can you tell we had fun? 😆⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ I feel so blessed and fortunate to have a job where I can work with great clients who are like minded, creative, passionate about their work, and who let me joke around between takes like a weirdo 🤩 ⠀ ⠀ Thank you all for allowing me to fulfill my dreams for all these years. I had a really tuff time for years with my social anxiety. I still struggle with it to this day sometimes, but I’ll talk about that in another post in the future. Today I just want to say thank you to all my wonderful clients who have made me feel at home on set and comfortable to be my silly self.
