Embark on an adventure into the heart of nature at Torres Del Paine National Park in Chile! 🏞️ Stretching across 48 miles of rugged terrain, the iconic W trail offers a journey of breathtaking vistas and unforgettable experiences. Over 3 days, I traced the trail’s path, meandering along glacial lakes and traversing majestic mountain landscapes. From the mesmerizing Grey Glacier to the bustling activity at the park’s main visitor center, every step unveils a new facet of the park’s splendor. The crown jewel of the journey? The awe-inspiring Torres del Paine, after which the park is named, though shrouded in clouds upon my arrival, still managed to leave an indelible mark on my spirit. Whether you’re a novice backpacker seeking your first taste of the wilderness or a seasoned adventurer wandering solo, the W trail welcomes you with open arms. With well-equipped Rifugios dotting the path and a myriad of options for sustenance and shelter, it’s a haven for those seeking solace in the embrace of nature. Early December granted me favorable weather and winds, adding an extra layer of magic to an already enchanting trek. 🌟 #HikingAdventures #TorresDelPaine #WTrail #NatureLovers #soloTravel #hiking #backpacking

Ventured along the Route of the Parks in Chilean Patagonia and stumbled upon a true gem: the endangered Huemel deer. 🦌 Witnessing these majestic creatures in Cerro Castillo National Park was a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Grateful for the opportunity to explore alongside the team from @rewildingchile Chile (formerly Tompkins Conservation), who tirelessly protect not just landscapes, but species too. 🌿 This is a mesmerizing area with fields of lupine, glacial fed rivers, stunning mountains and pristine sceneries in every direction. Reflections from the return of a once massive inland lake in the middle of the desert at Death Valley National Park. Apologies for the low quality as this was shot on my iPhone 🤦‍♀️ and zooming in really doesn’t work well on far away shots. #deathvalley #nationalparks #california #reflections #photographer

Don’t worry I was scared the first time I spent a lot of time in nature alone too. The hardest thing to get over when we first start doing things alone is our anxiety over our own insecurities. Just like learning a new skill, learning to know ourselves and feel confident alone is also something we have to develop. #alone #solohiker #solotravel #exploretheworld

Embarking on outdoor adventures requires careful preparation and packing the essentials is non-negotiable! 🌲 From the unpredictable weather to unexpected situations, I’ve curated my go-to kit for every hike. 1. Extra Layers & Rain Gear: Mother Nature can be unpredictable. Being prepared with extra layers and rain gear ensures I stay warm and dry no matter what the weather throws my way and we all know that the higher you hike the colder, windier and crazier it can often get. 2. Sun Protection: Shielding myself from harmful UV rays is crucial. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat are my trusty companions under the blazing sun. 3. First Aid Kit: Safety first! My meticulously stocked first aid kit includes essentials like K tape, aspirin, first aid cream, Benadryl, antibiotics, zip ties, para cord, fire starter, and an emergency blanket. It’s a comprehensive package for tackling minor mishaps and unexpected emergencies, and so far I’ve helped more fellow hikers on the trail with this than myself. 4. @garminoutdoor InReach for Emergency Communication: When venturing into the wilderness, staying connected is paramount. My Garmin InReach provides reliable emergency communication, ensuring help is just a button press away in case of emergencies. 5. Headlamp: As the sun sets, a reliable headlamp illuminates the path ahead, guiding me safely through the darkness and extending my adventures into the night. Or the unnecessary mishaps that might happen if caught on the trail after dark. These essentials aren’t just items in my backpack; they’re the peace of mind that allows me to fully immerse myself in the beauty of nature. What are your hiking must-haves? Share your essentials and let’s keep exploring responsibly! 🏔️✨ #HikingEssentials #AdventurePreparedness #ExploreResponsibly”

There's a reason Patagonia is heralded as one of the best hiking and backpacking destinations in the world. ⁣ After leaving Antarctica I headed straight to the town of Puerto Natales and right into Torres Del Paine National Park. This is one of the most well known Chilean National Parks, named after the striking towers of the Torres Del Paine which reach into the sky like skyscrapers made of rock. After spending a night on the western end of the park and admiring the grey glacier I stepped foot onto the W Trek and spent three full days hiking across the park, traversing suspension bridges, crossing rivers, soaking my feet in the icy cold glacier lakes and camping under stars, rain and mountain peak. 46 miles later I reached the end of the trail on the other side of the park. ⁣ ⁣ Here are a few of my favorite images from this wonderful hike across the park. To watch the video check it out now on my Youtube channel at the link in my bio @alicesadventuresonearth ⁣ ⁣ Got questions about the W Trek? This is one of the world’s clearest rivers in the world and it’s located in Chilean Patagonia. It’s called Rio Cochrane and is just below Patagonia National Park. You can take a boat ride or kayak these icy waters and jump in for a swim on a warm summer day. #chile #patagonia #rivers #rio #visitchile

If you hike, camp or backpack often, you’ve undoubtedly put a hole in your sleeping bag or a jacket. If you’re like me, you probably just threw some duct tape over it but there’s a much better way that will make your gear last a lot longer. So I’m sharing this repair accessory because I was so excited when I found these patches from @nosopatches… they are high quality, washable and they come in all kinds of fun shapes, animals, national park symbols and more. Installation is super easy and it will make your hole-eee items look even cooler than before too. I remember pretty clearly being a second grader and believing whole heartedly that I would grow up and own my own gymnastics club, training Olympian’s and probably living in Utah. By fifth grade I also wanted to own a restaurant in New York City with a waterfall that falls from the upstairs seating and encloses a secret seating area behind it for special guests. Then I thought I would do architecture or interior design. In college I majored in business, and eventually ended up with an undergrad degree in Sociology and a masters in Environmental Management. It’s funny how our life experiences and the things we learn change our wants and desires. I have worked as a gymnasts coach and helped start and build two restaurants so some of those childhood dreams were explored. 2 things that always stayed consistent in all my changing ideas were my love for competing and performing in sports and my love for travel. It is so good to have dreams, to have goals, to experiment with different jobs, to travel and live in different places in our youth too. These experiences so help in shaping and finding our passions and our purpose. What did you want to be when you were a kid and what are you doing now?? #whenigrowup #lifegoals #lifelessons

✅When I grow up I want to be the ballerina in the music box but instead of being in a box put me on a mountain and let me see the world 🌎 #outdoorlife #gymnastics #athlete #fitness #hikerlife

People love the Caribbean all year round with its beautiful beaches, cool evening breezes, poolside cocktails and its ability to leave us feeling utterly relaxed and disconnected from our lives at home. And no matter how stressed or upset I ever was, as soon as that plane touched Bahamian air space a smile and sense of elation would sweep over my body. While winter may be the most popular time to visit this area of the world, summer offers great savings, and while the temperatures may be warmer it can still be a great time to visit. A lover of the Caribbean I have yet to visit all of its wonderful and unique islands, so I teamed up with some of theand put together this list of theandthat
