Loaded Vegan Sweet Potato Boats

Early spring is a great time for friends and family to gather and shake the dust off, share amazing food, and spend quality time together. Shareable food is always a hit with my crowd, and these sweet potato boats are stuffed to the gills with pure mouth watering flavor! Read on for the recipe

Halloween to Holiday Quick Tablescape

I like to keep my table unadorned for everyday things, and a simple centerpiece is as far as I usually go unless we are having guests for dinner. I work with tablescapes every day as a professional food photographer, and over the years I have developed a few tried-and-true tips on the best way to set up a table. My chosen bold here is red, and I made sure to have it in just a few places so it wouldn’t overpower my table or take away from any of the other decorations. The only thing you really need are plates, food, and a few key decorative accents for a gorgeous table!

Fun Fossil Dig: A DIY Sensory Activity

Last summer I wasn’t fully prepared for just how much time we would have on our hands, but this year I have gathered a stockpile of boredom busting activities that I can pull out any time they are needed, like this absolutely adorable DIY dino dig kit. * Plastic dinosaurs, rocks, or anything you want to dig for First, combine equal parts water, Plaster of Paris, and sand in a large bowl that you don’t mind parting with. If your basin is big enough, you can pack tools, glasses, and your field guide inside and close the lid, so that all you have to do is open it when you are ready to dig. My kids loved discovering what surprises were inside, and the field guide was a really cute addition to the activity because it helped them use their observational skills.

Kaleidoscope Herb Planters

These DIY kaleidoscope planters use a mix of new craft supplies and found items from around the home, and they are perfect for kids, grownups, and everyone in between! Here is what you need: * 2 small herb plants or seeds if you want to start that way * popsicle sticks (optional – for smoothing edges instead of using fingers) To make these all you have to do is brush a layer of Mod Podge all over the surface of your can, stick on your tissue paper pieces (layering is fine), and then brush on a final layer. Once you have it covered, let it sit for 15 minutes to dry, then go back over with another thin layer of Mod Podge to make sure everything is sealed in place.
