10 tips for solo female travel in India

Obviously most people are kind and will want to actually help, but it’s key – especially when travelling solo – to act as though you know what you are doing & where you’re going. I don’t want to go into too much detail as am going to make a whole post dedicated to what to wear as a woman in India but for now if you do some googling or check out my Instagram you will get the idea of what’s OK & whats not. They don’t want to know your name, they don’t want to have a conversation, just a photo that they are going to go and show all of their friends and who knows what else (sorry, but it has to be said! ) Don’t be so friendly towards people you don’t know As I mentioned already, you will come across so many people who are wanting to help you or try sell you things.

Everything you need to know about being vegan in Cambodia

One thing on every traveller’s mind is the local food scene and where to go to eat amazing authentic dishes – Khmer food is not as well-known as some other Southeast Asian cuisine (like Thai or Vietnamese) but it certainly won’t disappoint! If you have been travelling around Southeast Asia you would likely be familiar with most of them but if you are brand new to these destinations then here is a quick list: Fish Paste, Fish Sauce, Shrimp Paste, Oyster Sauce, Non-Dairy Milk, Milk Powder, Condensed Milk, Broth, Stock, Cooking Oil, Ghee, Butter, Egg, Mayonnaise and Honey. Baguettes – Order with salad and herbs instead of with grilled meat Stir Fry – Order vegetables only without oyster sauce served with steamed rice Salad – Order popular dishes such as Pomelo or Mango Salad without seafood You can order fruit salad, fruit shakes, juice, oatmeal or granola, vegetables and rice, rice soup or noodle soup without broth, toast, fresh bread and pastries.

How to start your own blog in 6 simple steps!

*Before we begin with Bluehost, head over to wordpress.org  ( do make sure you use .org, NOT .com) & sign up for free. I started plantbasedkate.com nearly 2 years ago now using Bluehost & truly can’t recommend them enough. This is super simple to do because Bluehost has a free feature which allows you to set it up easily! You will want to pick a beautiful theme for blog, choose a colour scheme, upload give it a title, tag line, upload a logo if you like & also download some Plugins!

My 10 favourite things to do in Rishikesh, India

If you are a bit shy & don’t want to bathe in front of everyone in the main apart of town – there are so many more private spots to take a dip, just a short walk down the river either way from Lhaksman Jhula. There is something about waterfalls that makes me so happy, If you feel like it, keep walking up, up, up, past the main waterfall swimming spot to find some more quiet swimming spots. It gets pretty busy here every evening and especially in the busy season, so be sure to arrive at 5:00-5:30pm in order to get a good spot to see the Aarti. My other favourite spots are Soul Kitchen, Ganga beach cafe, The Eat Story, The Juice House & Tattv cafe & Free spirit.
