Alonso is number one in the Mets system, not because he’s an all world talent, but because he’s the only bat in the system above A ball with a true carrying offensive tool. All fields power, approach, and an above average hit tool, lead me to believe Alonso is a future fantasy relevant corner bat. This is kind of where we’re at with the Mets system, I’m ranking a 16 year old shortstop in the top five. A switch-hitting power bat at the shortstop position, with the body and frame to grow into plus game pop.

An exciting mix of five tool athletes, power hitters, power pitchers, and hit tool middle infielders, make this system one of the top to follow for fantasy purposes. There’s 40 homer pop potential in Rooker’s bat, and he’s consistently measured with elite exit velocities, averaging 92 MPH in both the college season, and during his time in the Florida State League. On one hand he passed one of the most difficult challenges a power hitter can face (the FSL) with flying colors, on the other he was a pretty advanced college hitter with a ton of power in A ball. A talented teenage switch hitter with plus bat speed, powerful wrists, and plus raw power

We don’t spend much time chit-chatting on this one, we dive right into Shohei Ohtani, his impact, outlook, and potential value in 2018. We discuss Kevin Maitan’s market correction, Brandon Marsh’s back hip coil, and which MLB player his swing reminds us of. In your mind’s eye, you have conjured Jed Lowrie, the MLB’s most boring baseball player. These 9 players all have tremendous upside, each a fun young exciting player (except Whit Merrifield who is 29 year olds going into his second full season). He had the lowest soft hit rate of all second basemen last season and 7th highest hard hit rate right behind Daniel Murphy. One is Jed Lowrie’s 2017 and the other is another player’s 2016.
