Cozy Thoughts Colorwork Sweater

I have been a long-time fan of Amy Small, the owner and creator of Knit Collage! Amy’s yarns are so unique and immediately identifiable as they are unlike any on the market with their beautiful blend of colours and touch of whimsy. I have had the pleasure of working with some of her dreamy yarns with the projects pictured below: the Pom Bomb Hat and Dash Shawl (click the projects to see my previous blog posts about them)

The Horizons Beanie

I had an idea for a beanie with a double brim and delicate striping, so I decided to combine Pink and Cream together using my 5 mm 16″ circular needles! Here is the free pattern for the Horizons Beanie: Knit this cozy and warm beanie featuring a sturdy double brim and modern striping! * Chainette Yarn from the LB Collection – worsted weight level 4 yarn (70% Baby Alpaca, 18% Virgin Wool, 12% Polyamide); I used the colors Pink & Cream, Mustard & Beige, and Silver & Cream together. Lion Brand Yarn has put together a convenient kit containing all the luxurious Chainette yarn you need to make 1 adult size Horizons Beanie and 1 child size Horizons Beanie along with the patterns!

Lion Brand Blogger Event 2019

We had organized a Sip and Stitch on this day at the Standard Biergarten, so after brunch, half the group went to the meet-up location while the other half went to get the swag bags and yarn! and I went to the Lion Brand Yarn Studio to pick up the yarn! Since last year, most of the Lion Brand staff had moved offices to New Jersey (only the Lion Brand Yarn Studio remains in Manhattan). We then hopped on a bus back to Manhattan and had a chance to shop at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio!

The Summit Cowl (Knit)

***You can purchase an INEXPENSIVE AD-FREE PDF of this pattern on Etsy HERE! This beautifully formatted PDF includes the step-by-step pictures and patterns for BOTH the Summit Beanie and Summit Cowl- it is a total of 4 pages including the cover page! Lion Brand Yarn has made a convenient kit HERE that includes the knit patterns and all the luxurious Fifty Fifty Yarn required to make the matching beanie and cowl set (this special yarn is only available online or at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio in New York City)! When Lion Brand Yarn sent me their GORGEOUS new yarn, I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it! This luxurious beauty from the LB Collection is called “Fifty Fifty“, and as its name suggests, it is 50% alpaca and 50% wool. It is classified as a super bulky (level 6) yarn although I would say it is closer to a level 7 jumbo yarn as it is definitely thicker than Wool-Ease Thick & Quick and other super bulky favourites
