The Best Hikes in Arenal, La Fortuna

On a beautiful clear day you’ll be able to see the whole volcano looming over you, however, be aware that most days there is a lot of cloud cover in the area especially in the rainy season. After clambering back down, you can go swimming in a little lake underneath that has a tarzan swing and tree to jump off (so you really do feel like you’re in the Jungle Book! ) and lies directly below the volcano. The tours next stop is the Arenal Observatory Lodge, which is usually $15 entry (but is included), and a great place to take beginner level trails if you wanted to come back on your own. Entry points are on the Arenal Observatory Lodge ($15) and Green Lagoon Lodge ($10-15).

A First Timers Guide to Visiting Ancient Egyptian Sights

I suggest ticking one or two things off in Luxor, along with a hot air balloon ride and city explorations, then head down to Aswan, then back to Luxor before circling around to Cairo once again. Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River and was constructed in approximately 1400 BCE. By far the most famous and elaborate temple complex filled with Ancient Egyptian sights, The Valley of the Kings lies hidden in the grand rock cliffs beside the western banks of the Nile. Now reconstructed and relocated from its former location (much like many sights here in Egypt), the Philae Island Temple can be found in the Nile’s Low Dam reservoir, in the south of Aswan.

Egypt Photo Journal – From Cairo to Aswan

From the tombs of the South, to the fertile delta of the North, Egypt has one of the most incredible histories on the planet. The mythology, religion and culture here will forever bare great meaning to me, with unexpected turns at every bend still filling me with joy. From the very start, Travel Talk Tours took incredible care of us. You can read more about my tour and itinerary here, or check out the Travel Talk trip I was a part of through their website.

Travelling Egypt In a Week – How To Maximise Your Time

Tonight, it’s time to make your way to the south – Luxor – where you will spend either 10-12 hours on a bus getting htere, or the overnight sleeper train (which often gets delayed for up to 16 hours – not recommended). Today, it’s time to head into the Valley of The Kings where you will uncover the secrets of King Tutankhamen’s tomb and the ancient Valley itself. Travel Talk offers an optional Nubain village dinner, but I highly suggest taking the next day to head here as it is so beautiful in the day time and the villagers are more than happy to show you around! It is non-stop, with three cities, a felucca (traditional boat) cruise, 10 + temples and monuments, lengthy bus trips and short-but-sweet stops at local workshops, so be prepared for some early mornings, late nights and a lot of history for just one short week!
