Herodrive DC SuperFriends Toy Cars Review

For the past couple of weeks Arlo has been playing with the Herodrive DC Super Friends toys [gifted for review] and is one very happy chappy! The Batman Mash Machine is a chunky, sturdy car with lights and sounds, activated by the Batman logo button on the front of the car. Because of the location of the noise-making button once your little guy (or girl! ) realises that zooming towards skirting boards at full speed means noise and lights you might want to leave the room for a little bit! These are the perfect size for popping in a bag to take out on train or car journeys, and are small enough to ‘drive’ around the table top in restaurants but to not make noise or damage if they’re dropped.

Breakfast with the Bunny at HardRock Cafe London

On Sunday we had a real treat, as we were invited to have ‘Breakfast with the Bunny’ at Hard Rock Cafe London, the original Hard Rock Cafe, that opened in 1971! There was a problem with the hot water machine for tea at the start of the breakfast, but as soon as the waiting team realised this they popped and made me tea in the kitchen and bought it to my table There was so much on offer for the kids to do that Sam and I actually got to sit and have a proper catch up over a leisurely breakfast, safe in the knowledge they were having fun and being kept entertained! The Old Park Lane location is incredibly easy to find, and perfect for exploring a fantastic part of London – we saw some mounted soldiers trotting up Constitution Hill towards Buckingham Palace and then strolled to Hard Rock through Green Park!

S'mores Hot Cross Buns

They’re so easy to make, everyone loves them and they’re a really lovely way to undulge without scoffing an actual easter egg, so you can even pretend you’re being a little bit healthy…. Another easy way to tart up your Hot Cross Buns is by making Ice Cream Sandwiches! All you need to do is lightly toast your halves, butter them and then slap a healthy scoop of ice cream in the middle, drizzle with chocolate sauce and enjoy! I used Cadburys Creme Egg ice cream here, for extra eastery-ness but salted caramel works very well too!

Brickosaurs at Marwell Zoo

Arlo was more interested in tracking the Brickosaur Dino’s on the Marwell Zoo app – which is such a good idea even without the ability to track dinosaurs! Each of the dinosaurs are displayed in a wide open spaces, so they can easily be seen by lots of people at once, and are behind ropes or behind glass screens for the ones in display cases so they can’t be touched by little fingers! However because little people love to play with Lego and we’d not want to deprive them, if you take them to the Brickosaur Base Camp which is just behind Marwell Hall they can play with Lego and Duplo to their hearts content! There’s a video teaser on Marwell’s Facebook page here and for all the opening times between now and when the Brickosaurs leave on September 1st make sure to check the Marwell Zoo website, where you can buy tickets and skip any queues when you enter!
