Knock Off Home Decor Deals: Moody Monday

Today for Moody Monday I wanted to do something different and share some fabulous knock-off home decor pieces that cost a lot less than the high end items. Better yet, I have pulled together theses great pieces together into mood/design boards with color combinations and layering mixes to show you some beautiful ways that you can incorporate these pieces into your home

Creative Easter Dinner Recipes to Try

This Apple Cranberry Walnut Salad is loaded with red and green apples, dried cranberries, rich feta cheese, and nutritious walnuts, all dressed with a light and lovely apple-honey vinaigrette. This pretty Blackberry Bacon and Blue Cheese Salad will please even the pickiest eaters, with its fresh blackberries, crisp bacon, crumbled blue cheese, and a honey balsamic vinaigrette dressing. This beautiful Lemon Blueberry Layer Cake has it all—tart lemon, sweet blueberries, and decadent cream cheese frosting. Make this Kentucky Butter Cake—a moist vanilla pound cake topped with an amazing butter glaze/sauce that soaks into the cake—the day before you plan to serve it to allow the sauce time to work its magic.

How to Choose the Right Exterior Paint Colors

I can’t tell you how often I work with clients who have a lot of architecture detail on the exterior of their home (shake, shutters, lots of changes in roof angles) who want to paint every detail a different color/shade because they think it will accentuate the architectural details. If a home is modern, I will usually recommend a darker trim and if the home is more traditional, I will recommend contrasting a mid-toned body color with white. Below is a home painted with a mid-tone gorgeous blue and because the home is a coastal architectural style, the trim and exterior accents were painted white to keep the whole home looking light. I have been choosing exterior colors for clients for more than 10 years and I still only work with one color strip when it comes to choosing exterior colors to keep it safe and ensure that all the colors will blend beautifully.

Modern European Meets Farmhouse Dream Kitchen

Silverhawk Enterprises is a fantastic builder and since I toured this particular home back in 2017, I have had the pleasure of seeing several other Silverhawk homes built in the area and have been so blown away by the consistent craftsmanship of this builder with each home! The builder not only carried the wood floors through the kitchen but they accented the kitchen with the same wood oak color in the floating shelves that warmed up the kitchen mixed with the white and marble backsplash. The custom European inspired vent hood over the range is absolutely stunning and notice the beautiful detail of where the cabinetry trim work meets the ceiling. There were floor to ceiling pantry shelves opposite the sink, which I did not get a picture of but look at all that great storage over the pantry sink.
