6 Family Road Tripping Tips

We spend a lot of time in the car on loooong drives and even though our mini Blondies (currently) 5 and 3 years old, are used to our big driving adventures, we always take the time to ensure we are well prepared before we hit the frog and toad to ensure the journey goes as smoothly as possible. I usually pack a small lunch box of healthy food (avoiding sugary foods as much as possible as the last thing you need is hyped up crazies in the back seat! ). I try to give items that take longer to eat like mandarins or bananas (which I let the kids peel themselves), or any food that takes time for little fingers to pick up and eat. If there is no dedicated rest stop sign posted I simply search the words ‘playground near me’ on Google and we find the best place to stop which usually has a toilet nearby.

Helpful Tips on Living Green that Won't Blow Your Budget

So with the hope that we can help educate and raise awareness on the importance of limiting plastic use, we have put together this list of Eco-friendly products that won’t blow your budget – Clothing Brand Piping Hot have embraced the wonderful invention of Repreve fabric. Investing in these environmentally friendly products is a great way to reduce your plastic use, they also make great gifts too! As proud ambassadors for Take3 we are collecting rubbish almost daily on our travels around Australia and help raise awareness by sharing their simple message which is – Whenever you’re at a beach, waterway or anywhere in the great outdoors, simply take 3 pieces of rubbish away with you and you’ve made a difference. By making Eco-conscious choices, along with raising awareness with your friends and family by sharing articles like this one, more people will be aware and choose environmentally friendly products… and that my friends, is how we change the world.

Great family Hotels & Resorts for touring Australia

It felt so good to do all the ‘jobs’ that are hard to achieve when you are travelling and always on the go… and of course – we made sure we did ‘all the things‘ – At the Oaks Cable Beach Sanctuary, we had fun catching up on some much-needed swimming lessons for the kids as we enjoyed ALL FIVE of their swimming pools! Our time in Darwin was jam-packed full of fun, making memories together as we visited the Museum, Mindal Beach Markets and even got our hearts racing as we watched monstrous crocs leap out of the water on the famous Adelaide River Jumping Croc Cruise! Our favourite part about our Darwin stay though was letting our mini Blondies run with delight to Grandma and Grandpa’s room each morning for snuggles and cartoons in their bed while we enjoyed a sleep in – a very rare thing indeed! With friendly staff, spacious modern rooms, and locations in so many great destinations all over Aus they are the perfect place to go for some time out from your road tripping adventures.

Travel Survival Kit for Outdoor Adventures - What you should pack

When you think of Australian travel and outdoor adventures, dangerous animals and creepy crawlies like Snakes, Spiders or even Crocodiles come to mind! ! Although this list may look like a long list of items they are all quite small and fit neatly inside a small Zip Pouch that lives at the bottom of our day pack. If you are to find yourself lost or injured while out in nature you can read our survival post 5 Survival tips that could save your life , it touches on the 3 most important elements which are finding shelter, fire and water. We hope this has helped you be more prepared for your outdoor adventures, and if the unexpected occurs it’s nice to know that you have the tools at hand to keep you safe and comfortable until help arrives… or better still
