Eleven things about Elsa

I was told throughout the pregnancy that she wasn’t going to be particularly large, probably smaller than Jude’s birth weight of 8lbs 11oz. Well, clearly Elsa was listening and took on the challenge because at her birth, a few days later than expected, she hit the scales at 9lbs 6oz. I wasn’t allowed to help her with anything, which was quite convenient as Jude needed me a lot more. I couldn’t believe she actually got up and did it – so very brave for someone this young to dance in front of all those people on a real stage.

Update number 24946083

Emmeline started rugby classes but because she’s going through a seriously clingy phase, she isn’t loving it. Took her music theory exam a few weeks ago and has her grade 5 flute in a weeks time. I had her parents evening two weeks ago which was a little different to Emmeline’s in that I had to whizz around and speak to about ten different teachers. Jude has morphed into a fully grown, massive teenager in what feels like a very short space of time.

Coping with a huge change

I feel a little bit like I’m betraying Jude this half term as we’re keeping a secret from him that I know is going to cause confusion. Jude returns to school on Sunday but he won’t be going to his usual house. I know he isn’t the easiest of children (understatement of the century) but he’s been made welcome, he’s been cared for and looked after in the best possible way. he’s no longer a House 2 resident…House 6, I hope you’re ready for him!

Dentist trips

but it didn’t bother the dentist. Naturally, I only felt positive emotions even as soon as we stepped into this room but that hasn’t always been the case. Jude was only about five at the time and he refused to open his mouth or even sit on the dentists chair. He looked uneasy around Jude and basically after a few minutes of not really trying, the dentist suggested we come back another time to get Jude used to visits.
