Highlights
The Woods Trail & Dog Park

Turn left at the bottom of the ramp, then left at the next stop sign (gas station will be kitty corner to this stop sign). Address is 4275 Sunrise Dr, Park City, Utah. Walk down the paved path until you see the fenced in dog park on your left. You will come to a trail split - turning right will put you on the 0.5 mile loop, and heading left is the 1.3 mile loop. Don't let your dog run into their property - not sure how the neighbors feel about having this path right behind their home.

Hiking the Lower Sand Cove Trail (aka The Vortex)

The Lower Sand Cove Trail is located in Dammeron Valley, outside of St. Turn left on Bluff St. Reset your odometer and drive 3.7 miles to the signed Lower Sand Cove TH parking area on your left. I didn't even think to bring a rain jacket on this trip (how often does it rain in St. The other was stuffed in his pack, and I didn't realize until after sitting under that rock for an hour that he had this extra jacket I could borrow.

Hiking to Chair Peak, Deer Creek Reservoir

Chair Peak (6,194 ft, aka "Chair Hill") is a small peak located at Deer Creek Reservoir. If you choose to hike here in Summer, sunset time is the best time to hike as you get to watch the mountains glow! Drive all the way through Provo Canyon, and park at the Wallsburg Group Area (in summer), and in winter across the road at the Park & Ride lot. Yes, for winter it's $7/car, and in summer $10/car during the week; weekends are $15.

Hiking to Bells Canyon Waterfall

Bells Canyon Waterfall is in the canyon just south of Little Cottonwood Canyon, and apart of the watershed, so dogs are banned from this trail. The trail passes Bells Canyon Reservoir, passes the waterfall, and actually leads to an upper pond, 4.5 miles one way. Most people hike to the waterfall, and at only 2.3 miles one way, it makes for a great after work hike, or a family hike on weekends. Bells Canyon gives you a little taste of everything the Wasatch Mountains have to offer - a beautiful meadow with flowers in Spring time, a stream, a reservoir, giant slabs of granite, shade, and of course, a 40 ft waterfall as your reward.
