Who knew that sharks had personalities (page 186) or that there were four hundred thousand different plant species on the Earth (page 98), or that there are more geysers in Yellowstone National Park than anywhere else on the Earth? Filled with captivating color photos and amazing facts about the Earth past as well as present, the National Geographic Kids 2020 Almanac is a SURE winner in my house! Although the book clearly states “kids” on the front I’d say this is a fun family book great for trivia, car trips and kids that just love nature and the Earth. This book is also an excellent choice for parents looking to refresh old almanacs, get kids off of the constant screen time and get them exploring (think STEM) in their own back yards!
I really liked the lego warrior girl in the film voiced by Elizabeth Banks. My daughter started playing with Lego’s at the age of 4 With summer break on the horizon I’d say this film is a great purchase to keep kids occupied, entertained and busy building and using their brains! The Deacon Jones Foundation and Maryland Art Place Interview with Ms. Elizabeth Jones – As a mom in Maryland, I am always looking for fun, educational things for my family. The Deacon Jones Foundation and Maryland Art Place was founded in 1997 to assist young people in the communities that they live. The Deacon Jones Foundation and Maryland Art Place was thrilled to announce that they had been awarded the Young Emerging Artists Education Grant. With these new funds, Elizabeth Jones plans to help MAP (Maryland Art Place) develop students into stronger role models as well as help them build onto their creative talents.
