Specialising in Mexico travel with a focus on outdoor family fun. She helps people to understand Mexico and aims to help people fall as wildly in love with the place as she did.

Cassie is a Brit who lives in Mexico with her family. She has written two books about living in, and exploring, Yucatán (available both on Amazon and in local bookstores). She is the senior editor for the environmental magazine, Saving Earth Magazine (and the kids' magazine too). She contributes articles to both SEM and to Yucatán Today, a local travel magzine.

Her blog, mexicocassie.com, is popular with people wishing to really get to know Mexico. She is an adventurer who is happiest outside, running around (she probably left her shoes at the bottom of a tree), laughing and chatting with everyone.

All About Tequila, Jalisco: Tours And More

While I stand by my claim that Tequila, Jalisco (sorry, I have to put the state after the town name to distinguish from tequila the drink) is not a party town, I definitely decided to leave my husband and kids at home for this trip. I was actually pretty surprised to realise this as I feel as if I’ve been reading and hearing about Tequila, Jalisco quite a lot recently. You can book tours for La Cofradia either over the phone (as I did because I went a little off piste) or in the Cofradia shop on the square. I love museums and I particularly love Palacios Municipales in Mexico because I adore seeing the murals and fitting them into what I know of Mexican history.

How To See The Monarch Butterflies In Mexico

How To See The Monarch Butterflies In Mexico Mexico is famous for being one of the few places in the world you can see the monarch butterflies en masse. The people I met in our B&B, and others I’ve spoken to since, suggested El Rosario as a good option for people who aren’t so keen on difficult terrain. If you really did want to stay in Mexico City and just make a day of it, Ellen and Joel give clear instructions on how to reach their B&B in time to join the 10 am day trip here. The next generation makes The numbers of monarch butterflies have been decreasing over the last twenty years, thanks in part, to deforestation in the USA, Canada and Mexico and the depletion of milkweed supplies.

Cenotes And Glamping: A Perfect Trip From Merida, Mexico

I love cenotes and I love camping or glamping, so when I discovered that I could combine the two into one fabulous weekend, I jumped up and down with excitement for a little while and then rounded up a group of friends to join us for a weekend of fun. We regularly go to Homun when we fancy some cenote fun but why head back to Merida if you don’t need to? Cozuma offers a more rustic adventure, or the Homun cenote circle is great for a similarly rustic experience, enjoying numerous cenotes with the locals. The swimming pool is pristine, there’s a large trampoline for the kids (and adults), a volleyball net, hammocks and sun beds with plenty of shade, a large restaurant area with games and even a projector hooked up to Netflix.

Postcards From Mexico: Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo

Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo A new postcard for the ‘Postcards From Mexico’ series. This postcard comes from Puerto Morelos in Quintana Roo, the area often known as Mexico’s Caribbean Coast. This latest ‘Eating Your Way Around…Mexico‘ article was written by Stephanie about her time in Playa del Carmen.
